The officials, who asked not to be identified because they had not been authorized to discuss the policy before it was announced, said it was meant to loosen restrictions on academic, religious and cultural groups that were adopted under President George W. Bush, and return to the “people to people” policies followed under President Bill Clinton.

Those policies, officials said, fostered robust exchanges between the United States and Cuba, allowing groups — including universities, sports teams, museums and chambers of commerce — to share expertise as well as life experiences.

End the Goddamn embargo already, the Cold War is over and capitalism won. Its time to open this potential market to American businesses.

Because nobody wants to be thought of as "that guy".

Conservative America will villify the first president to end the embargo as a communist supporter/sympathizer. We have that mentality in America.

It's the same guys that would renew the red scare if we really normalized relations with Russia beyond the occasional visit by Putin/Medva...yad...however you spell it.

Personally I'm for it. It gets a little old having to jump through hoops just to get a quality Cuban cigar.

i freally hope this is actually for real and not some bs...
