US Charge d' Affaires to Khartoum, Joseph Stafford has urged Sudan and the State of South Sudan, to overcome their differences.
The US diplomat said during a speech at the U.S. embassy in Khartoum to celebrate the National Day of Independence of the United States of America, that there are a lot of controversial issues still facing the two countries, but it can be resolved through peaceful dialogue .
Stafford lauded the recent visit to Sudan by the Vice- President of the State of South, D. Riek Machar adding that "there are a lot of mechanisms in place to address the vacancies, we hope that both parties will work for to solving their differences."
The U.S. ambassador stressed the need for the Sudanese government and the Government of Juba to promote a comprehensive peace process and address the root causes of the conflict between them.
