Biden anti oil policies come home to roost. Russia has us over an oil barrel which severely limits our ability to put any meaningful sanctions on them. Nice work Biden.

“Russia producers nearly tripled shipments of oil to the United States in 2021 – in 2020, the United States imported from Russia on average 76,000 barrels per day (bpd), while in 2021, that figure rose to 209,000 bpd, according to data from the Energy Information”

That old dude Biden doesn't know what he is doing, and he certainly does not understand economics (which, to be fair, few people do).

The big boys (and girls) are talking tough now because of the rape of Ukraine by the unhinged Russian, but the big boys (and girls) do not, really, want to touch their lucrative trade when it comes to oil. So American drivers will have to keep paying outrageously high prices.

Tripled? Huh. That should show up well on this chart. Wonder why it doesn't? (The chart actually goes through 2021 into 2022, but that doesn't show here. The original chart and supporting data can be found here - https://www.eia.gov/dnav/pet/hist/LeafHandler.ashx?n=PET&s=MTTIM_NUS-NRS_1&f=M . By the way, this chart is from the U.S. Energy Information Administration. The OP's data is from "GlobalEnergyPrize.org, whatever the hell that is.

LOL! Xiden is literally funding Russia's war on Ukraine 🤣

Nice try but a complete fail.

“COVID-19's impact on the global economy and consumer behaviors has reduced long-term world oil demand by 2.5 million barrels per day, according to S&P Global Platts Analytics Future Energy Outlooks.

Oh my god he still doesn't get it.

Ok, see 2020 on that chart? See how it's so much lower than the rest of it?

Now, compare 2021....

Why did our imports triple? Oil is a GLOBAL commodity... We import when their oil is CHEAPER...

Even as Washington champions energy independence and warns European allies against becoming too dependent on Moscow, American refineries are buying more of the country’s oil than ever before.”

If you believe Biden anti oil policies did nothing to slow US oil production you must be very disappointed in your “green “ president.

For those of you nerdy enough to look at a spreadsheet, the attached shows a 28% increase in oil imports from Russia from 2020 to 2021. Not certain about this, but I believe 28% is a little less than triple. (This is a Google Sheets spreadsheet

Even at that, if you use the monthly data from the cited source, the increase from 2020 to 2021 is 28% (monthly average, as only 11 months data is available for 2021). I'm not a math wizard, but I believe 28% is a little shy of triple.

Uh, the Bloomberg article is dated March, 2021. It has no data to support your OP that "U.S. nearly tripled imports of Russian oil in 2021".

It's obvious that the Biden pukes are deliberately trying to damage the US.

Oi. Both sides going half-cocked again. Naturally, the truth is somewhere between the extremes.

US imports of oil are indeed up and rising. That's a fact and the chart shows it. Still, saying that they tripled is as stupid as saying Trump had the worst economy since the depression.

I dug into your source a little bit. It appears to be Russian media. Jesus. Take a look. When your link opens up, in the top right corner find "RU". Click that and see what you get.

I believe the U.S. Energy Information Agency is probably a better source. Don't you.

Adds fuel to the fire. Every bit of info you can find shows US using ever more Russia oil after Biden seized power.

Did you even read it? Biden wasn't prez in 2020.

You are seriously confused.

We can quibble about exact numbers but fact remains under Biden we have become more dependent on Russia oil and that’s the inconvenient truth.

Biden seized power in 2021, not 2020.

Exacerbated by Biden anti US oil policies or do you believe your “green” president has not thwarted US oil production? If so you must be very disappointed in him.
