Reading what some people post on DP might cause others to think the Russian has a better grasp of American politics than many Americans.

There isn’t a single country in the world that is as easily manipulated as America,” said Russian parliament member Oleg Matveychev during the broadcast of Sunday Evening With Vladimir Soloviev.

Are all Americans falling for the propaganda that is essential to Tucker Carlson's nonsense or Lara Logan's increasingly disturbing claims? Nah, I don't think so, but 10% of the population is more than 30 million people who apparently have little knowledge of what is actually taking place in the world.

In Putin's Russia, how much of what is out on public media has to be approved by the Kremlin before it is released?

Kremlin TV Hosts Threaten the U.S. With Nuclear Strikes

In the surreal world of Russian state television, Russia is about to prevail in its war against Ukraine, which is being presented as a battle against the United States and NATO. According to top Kremlin propagandists, it’s only a matter of time before the West admits its defeat and pays reparations to Moscow or risks a devastating nuclear strike.
[. . .]
Appearing on Sunday Evening With Vladimir Soloviev, Russian parliament member Oleg Matveychev, known as the Kremlin’s spin doctor, watched a clip of Fox News’ Tucker Carlson—an everyday occurrence in Moscow’s tightly-controlled media environment. Matveychev noted: “There isn’t a single country in the world that is as easily manipulated as America.” He argued: “Here’s what will be on the table after our victory... After Ukraine’s demilitarization is completed... we’re going to raise the stakes... For example, the lifting of all sanctions... The dissolution of NATO, because the presence of NATO in some countries is getting in our way. Extradition of all war criminals... like [Anton] Herashchenko [former deputy minister at the Ukrainian Ministry of Internal Affairs], Zelensky, [former President of Ukraine Petro] Poroshenko. Extradition of various oligarchs, like [Mikhail] Khodorkovsky.”
[. . .]
Reciting the list of Russia’s future demands during Soloviev’s show, Matveychev became even more brazen: “We should be thinking about reparations from the damage that was caused by the sanctions and the war itself, because that too costs money and we should get it back. The return of all Russian properties, those of the Russian empire, the Soviet Union and current Russia, which has been seized in the United States, and so on.”

The host chimed in to ask: “Are you including Alaska and Fort Ross?”

Matveychev nodded: “That was my next point. As well as the Antarctic... We discovered it, so it belongs to us... Also, the return of all medals that have been unlawfully taken from our sportsmen during all Olympic games, as well as the extradition of [Grigory] Rodchenkov, along with the extradition of multiple other criminals we’ll want. I think we should start voicing all of that, so they understand what will be on the table. You didn’t want to talk to us about something small, like Ukraine’s neutrality, here’s what you get. And that’s not even all of it.”

Soloviev asked: “Does your list include a tactical nuclear strike, or are we going straight for the strategic one?”

Matveychev pompously scoffed, “What for? We can take them down without it.”

I'm not surprised.

The post-WWII world left us at a massive advantage. The enemy was crushed. The USSR crushed itself whilst rising and both got crushed and crushed itself further during WWII. So much of Europe was decimated. Summer time really was easy living, and was year-round. That lasted decades. We surged while everyone crawled, then staggered, then, then then...

What do the effects include? Not thinking one needs to try as hard because things are taken care of. That and the moment you think you know exactly what your doing are the two situations in which you are most likely to screw up.

Easily manipulate? Of course. Complacency is an invitation.

It's more complicated than that, but in a sense he's right. How do you compare totalitarian states, especially China, who are far more manipulated but at great expense and effort, with the US which has more freedoms but is easier to just take advantage of all of its open systems? It's a lot easier for China to spread lies in the US (and they just increased their budget doing so 500%) than for the US to spread truths (or lies) in China.

Probably a better example of American gullibility would be that (allegedly) 80 million people thought Joe Biden would be a good President.

Generalisations can obviously be dangerous but Americans as a race are the most gullible and poorly informed group that I have met .

Friendly and hospitable but so parochial .

We do have a large number of people who will believe anything this one old dude with a weird tan (and weirder hair) will say.

The good news is that if you tell them in a stern voice that Jesus wants them to do something, they'll go do it for you, and if you tell them to buy your made-in-China crap with one of the weird old dude's slogans on it, you can take their money consequence free.

So, they do serve a purpose.

It's takes a strong leader to not go to war .....one that can pragmatic, practical, sensitive, smart and show diplomacy.

Therefore Putin is a weak individual that must be macho in fear of not appearing man enough.

Not really. Joe has been pretty much a dumpster fire so far.
what kind of a president would you be mr. tough dude? no clue right?

I’m not presidential material. Neither is Joe. But there are some people that fit the bill.

Says the minority.

Maybe next time your candidate will win.

Good luck.
That’s a delusional statement. Joe’s poll numbers suck. You know that as well as I do. Why do you post unicorns and rainbows?

I would still vote for you over Calamity Joe. 😄

Did the electoral college elect Joe Biden or did poll numbers?

Lame comment.
Have you not seen what Biden has done?.....
It's very tragic what Brando has done to America in such a short time!
