"Another 800 Infected With COVID-19 at University of Alabama"

Already at 1900 total now which is nearly 5% of the student body. The total number of all US cases is only 2% of the population and that's resulted in nearly 200,000 deaths.

The results of this natural immunity project will settle a lot of questions. The main one being: Are young people really at no risk of serious complications? Another is: How big a superspreading tide of new cases will occur? Roll Tide.

what is won't answer is if those young people infected with have long term damage/complications.

We've already learned that even asymptomatic young athletes who test + for covid-19 and in top physical condition are at risk for cardiac complications:

The condition is usually caused by a viral infection, including those that cause the common cold, H1N1 influenza or mononucleosis. Left undiagnosed and untreated, it can cause heart damage and sudden cardiac arrest, which can be fatal. It is a rare condition, but the COVID-19 virus has been linked with myocarditis with a higher frequency than other viruses, based on limited studies and anecdotal evidence since the start of the pandemic.

Heart condition linked with COVID-19 fuels Power 5 concern about season's viability
