U.N. chief accuses hezbollah of cowardly blending among refuges (1 Viewer)

During that visit he condemned the killing and wounding of civilians by both sides, and called Israel's offensive "disproportionate" and "a violation of international humanitarian law."
He would have more credibility if he more accurately accused Hezbollah of "disproportionate" response to whatever grievance they may have, and of "a violation of international humanitarian law" (whatever that is). Personally, I don't think there is such a thing as a "disproportionate" response to an overt act of war like Hezbollah committed. Until the losing side surrenders, war is the process of exterminating the enemy.

"Consistently, from the Hezbollah heartland, my message was that Hezbollah must stop this cowardly blending ... among women and children," he said. "I heard they were proud because they lost very few fighters and that it was the civilians bearing the brunt of this. I don't think anyone should be proud of having many more children and women dead than armed men."
Closer, but I think terrorists are less than men. Men defend their families. Men don't hide behind their women and strap bombs to their children.

Terrorists are a cancer in society and a threat to civilization. The conventional chemotherapy for cancer produces massive collateral damage among healthy cells, but victory is defined as completely eliminating every last cancer cell. If conventional therapy doesn't work, we may have to resort to radiation therapy -- but we must destroy this cancer.

All in all, this little news clip does nothing to restore my faith in the Useless Nothings.

What on earth is the "proportional" response to someone violating thier peace agreement, firing rockets across you border onto your cilivians, engaging in a military operation across that border to attack your armed forces taking two prisoners.

And speaking of which, where are the calls for Hezbollan to abide by the Geneva Conventions and allow access to the prisoners of war they hold and all other conventions. Where is THAT outrage?

Was the atomic bomb dispportional for Pearl Harbor? How does anyone set such a line. When you are attacked you responded with decisive overwhelming force, you owe it to your country, your troops that the civilians who will be affected. It is the quickest way to victory.

And many try to make the Israel's to be the bad guys. What folly.

Useless Nothings.

U.N. for those who missed it.
