U.N. chastises U.S. for recognizing Israel's claims to Golan Heights

March 28 (UPI) -- The United States was chastised Wednesday by the 14 other members of the United Nations Security Council for its decision to recognize Israel's sovereignty over Golan Heights.

On Monday, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu presided over President Donald Trump signing a proclamation recognizing Israel's annexation of Golan Heights from Syria.

The stretch of land between the two Middle Eastern countries was seized by Israel during the Six-Day War of 1967. In 1981, Israel passed the Golan Heights Law, which extended its law over the area, a move that was condemned by the U.N. Security Council who requested that Israel "rescind forthwith its decision."

Wednesday's meeting was called after a request by Syria to address the declaration, which it called a "flagrant" U.S. violation of a Security Council resolution denying acknowledgment of Israeli control of the land between Israel and Syria.

COMMENT:-

Another misleading story from the MSM. The resolution was actually defeated by a vote of 1 to 14 (since the US voted against it).

PS - You might not have noticed, but in most normal legal/voting situations the ethical course of conduct is to "recuse" yourself if the vote actually concerns you personally.

The UN can take their chastisement and shove it...sideways.

Now class, let's all sing the new national anthem

DonALD, DonALD, TRUHuhUMP!

PS - Does that apply to ALL UN "chastisements" or only to the ones that don't authorize the United States of America to take adverse actions against other countries?

Believe me...I have a very low opinion of the entire UN.
