The French aircraft carrier, the Charles DeGaulle, has arrived in the Gulf region, joining the John C. Stennis, which arrived in February, and the Dwight D. Eisenhower, which has been there for sometime. This deployment has a dual purpose - 1) To be there in case of war with Iran and 2) For support of operations in Afghanistan. Interestingly enough, where they are positioned would require flights from those ships to go over Iranian airspace, should they do missions to Afghanistan. No white flags have yet been spotted in the area of the ships.
MOD EDIT: Two US, one French aircraft carrier in Gulf region
