The NFL Network has a series of biographies on its greatest achievers. The Perfect Season (1972 Dolphins) was a good episode and there is one part that really stuck out to me. In today's day of teams spying on each other to get the upper hand, Don Shula had the playbook of the Washington Redskins handed to him a few days before the big game. Seems a Redskin player had left in somewhere and it was picked up by someone who wanted the Dolphins to win. As soon as it fell into Shula's hands, he immediately had it destroyed and was angered by the though that someone thought he would be okay winning this way. Classy and stand-up guy he was, RIP.

Long-time Miami Dolphins coach and two-time Super Bowl winner Don Shula dies at 90 - CNN

I was cleaning out stuff and I came across a menu from his restaurant in Phila. I can’t remember when I was there but it was quite awhile ago. He was one of the most liked and respected coaches in football RIP, Don

The coach of the Cinderella team of the NFL...I enjoyed watching them beat those damn Cowboys...(later on in the decade)...

Before the 1983 Super Bowl, DB Don McNeil stated that Miami was, “on a mission from Don,” referencing the popular, at the time, “Blues Brothers’ movie.

One of the great moments in DC sports was the 4th and 1 touchdown run of John Riggins.

RIP Don Shula.

One of the absolute greatest ever. Ever. Rest in Peace Coach. You earned it.

Hisnrecord is in jeopardy with Bellicheck and Reid but both still have a ways to go, otherwise I think it has easily another decade or two.

???
He died in 2000. I don’t think he’s gonna make a run at Shula’s record any time soon.

I'm guessing, but I think that Reid and Belichick would have to catch Landry first.

No need to guess.

I think Belichick has a good chance since he’s already passed him. (273-250 regular season/ 304-270 adding postseason)

Reid still needs a few more years but the chiefs are currently built to get him pretty good numbers right now.

George Halas is the only other coach still ahead of Belichick.

I was guessing and didn't bother to google. Not that I am remotely a Cowgirlz fan, he just seems to have coached them forever.

Shula was the first NFL coach to pop up on my radar...maybe at age-10. RIP indeed.
