The CNN political commentator praised the Trump administration for trying to bury last week’s dire climate change report.

Rick Santorum, the twice-failed Republican presidential candidate who’s no stranger to controversy, sparked internet outrage once again on Sunday ― this time for peddling a conspiracy theory about government climate scientists.

Democratic lawmakers have condemned President Donald Trump’s administration for releasing a federal climate change report on Black Friday, arguing the timing was meant to bury its alarming findings and warnings. But Santorum praised the administration’s move.

“Good for them,” Santorum said on CNN’s “State Of The Union” program, prompting apparent disbelief from his fellow panelists and host Dana Bash.

Trump is being hypocritical in his dismissal of the negative & accumulating effects of climate change. He used that excuse in applying for a sea wall to protect one of his golf clubs in the British Isles from the effects of rising sea levels. With Trump, it's all about money & his Big Business backers.

First, why does anyone care what Rick Santorum has to say on this matter?

Second, why do New Outlets care what a bunch of randos on a Social Media site say about someone making political commentary? I mean seriously, the biggest stories that seem to hit the pages of daily news outlets like Huffington Post is "Conservative Political Figure X says something that some people find offensive, Twitter users clap back, school him/her, and she is so buuuurrnnned!"

Why is this news?

Santorum, along with Trump & the bulk of the Republicans, are engaged in a conspiracy to deny the inevitable. That's news.

Discussing ^that is one thing. But framing it in the context of "A bunch of Twitter Users angrily shake their fists at Santorum for offending them" is as inane as me posting "Conservative Twitter users clap back at Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez for making economically-illiterate comments about entitlement expansion." Or this:

Unless we are debating the use of Twitter Mobs who happen to agree with us politically, we can simply focus on the comment made by Santorum and debate its merits.

The OP was about Santorum.

I watched that panel on CNN Sunday morning.

Santorum sounded like a dope. And, like Donald Trump, Santorum had a difficult time differentiating between weather events and climate change.

I refer to that type of syndrome as 'looking at the world through the wrong end of the telescope.' Easy to do but hard to figure out for many.
