Turtles Wash Up Dead

It is not possible to measure the temperature of the oceans.

Wow. Somebody better tell all those scientists who are doing just that. Some of them even think they can measure temperature ofwater from space, for crying out loud!

Of course some people will find the suggestion that sea turtles are dying of the cold due to global warming is a little bit illogical.

Dumb people, who can't read OP articles, yeah.

People who prefer to be told what to think rather than actually think about it.

Who will then tell other people what THEY should think and then get mad if those people actually do THINK about it and tell them that what they have been told is nonsense.

(And some of them are going to think this post ironic.....)

No. The OP article is dumb, and desperate.

"Facts" can be funny things in the hands of a willing shyster or a shyster who has been duped into propagating untruths.

The position is certainly not "disproven" by the illogic of your claim.

Actually, an intelligent reading of that 2nd article would imply the opposite.

No. It only makes it worse. Reminds me of Arthur Koestler's Darkness at Noon.

Well, you are right about AGW only making it worse.

Dozens of dead turtles wash up on Massachusetts coast due to cold, animal sanctuary says

Why do hundred-plus year old turtles get "stranded" in cold water up North?

Short answer: Global Warming.

And, one thing is for sure, the water is getting warmer.

satellite-computer-model-data-heatwave-gulf-of-maine.png

Thank God for global warming, or this would be happening more frequently.

Well, the article did explain that.

The planet still tilts.

Winter is still a thing.

Ans sea turtles don't have the weather channel.

They just know its still warm.

Until it isn't.

And then being cold blooded, its too late.

Some have died every year.

Warmer fall? More dead when winter comes.

As a society, we have reacted to this in a very susupiscious manner.

A mature society, when warned of a possible serious problem, would look into it to see if they are right.

That is NOT what happened.

Instead, absolute denial, coming directly from those whose oxen would be gored.

I didn't notice any numbers, giving year by yer comparisons. I can't help but think this is nothing more than more sensationalism.

Run for your lives! Run for your lives! Global warming freezes are coming! Turtles will die by the dozens if a king's ransom is not paid to climate researchers needing to burn huge piles of funding cash in order to change the weather.

And yet they conveniently leave out that over 4,000 are killed annually by fishing.

So the turtles are stranded in the cold because of warming? Hmmm.

They were never sighted in the Bay of Maine until 2010 when the water got warm enough for them to swim. Also there is evidence that the jet stream is becoming more elongated and is 'sticking" in place for longer resulting in the predicted extremes that are part of AGW. So either way they are victims of man made climate change. They won't be the last.
“The Northern Hemisphere jet stream […] flow is stronger when that temperature difference is large. But when the Arctic warms up faster than the equator does […] the jet stream’s flow can become weakened and elongated. That’s when you can get the resultant weather extremes.”

They aren't. No satellite can measure an absolute temperature either. They can only measure light. The emissivity of Earth is unknown.

Yes, they were.
when the water got warm enough for them to swim.
It was already warm enough for them to swim.
Also there is evidence that the jet stream is becoming more elongated
The jet stream changes constantly. It is not become 'more elongated' (whatever THAT means!).
and is 'sticking" in place for longer resulting in the predicted extremes that are part of AGW.
The jet stream doesn't 'stick in place' anywhere. It constantly changes it's path due to nearby weather patterns.
So either way they are victims of man made climate change. They won't be the last.
BS.

Twenty posts and he hadn’t figured that one out. Why did you have to help him?

"Warmer is the new colder." Got it.

Sounds like Darwinism at work to me. The turtles that recognize the cold waters coming and swim south fast enough get to live. We should stop trying to save all the Dodo birds and let nature do its thing.

Translation: hey! Look over there at that bad thing!

And you ignore that I pointed out they don't give annual numbers for other years, say 30 years back.

I'll lay odds that this is not unique.
