In a surprise move, Turkish Cypriots have put forward a new plan to resolve the most difficult chapter of the ongoing peace talks on the divided island by introducing the concept of “alternative property.”
We know "peace" is the last thing in mind, as it does not serve the Greek agenda. We know this well from the annan plan. Hopefully renewed efforts by our side, with the increasing political clout of Turkey, will lead us to a peaceful solution, since clearly Athens and Christofias will not.

I just read the article, but I don't understand the scheme. Are they suggesting building and development of new properties that could be offered to people from the opposite side of the green line in lieu of reclaiming their original property? Or is it something else? Hürriyet didn't explain it very clearly, I'm afraid.

greeks are spoilt children of 'europe'( i think it is not in europe), therefore i think there will be no an agreement between Turkish and greek cypriots unless Turks are completely deported from their own lands as in Palestine.
