This guy is the triggered hero for many on the right who couldn't get what they wanted out of life...He is NOT a journalist.

Fox News host Tucker Carlson on Wednesday lamented about what his show’s chyron described as “men in decline.” During one segment, he claimed there was “more drug and alcohol abuse” and “higher incarceration rates” in areas where women earn more money than their male counterparts.

Tucker Carlson Blames Higher-Earning Women For ‘Men In Decline’

He writes about it too....
Tucker Carlson: A mob of angry children doesn't want you to know why the American Dream is dying

This guy desperately wants to be a major player in US affairs, but nobody outside the right-wing bubble takes him seriously.

Tucker Carlson reminds me of the skinny kid in school who surrendered his lunch money most days. At least he doesn’t wear the bow-tie as much. It takes a certain type to pull off a bow-tie; TC, not so much.....

He musta been drunker 'an Cooter Brown....

It was an extremely thoughtful Op-Ed in which he cited numerous studies, including by organizations considered leftwing leaning such as the Brookings Institute.

The core premise is that most women will not marry a man who makes less money that she does - where most men do not look for women who make more than he does. Because so many women measure relationship potential on whether she gains economically and increasingly men can not find decent jobs due to decline in manufacturing and millions upon millions of unskilled migrants driving down wages, marriage and two parent families continues to decline.

But the SJWs have an ongoing War On Truth so absolutely NOTHING more infuriates them than facts and truth. Not one leftwing message above addresses anything he said, They just make generic ranting character attacks as usual.

Tucker is a rich, political ENTERTAINER. That you are pushing the idea that he's some visionary or thinker is absurd as most of your posts are.
That's not the premise of the Brookings data.

The Brookings studies/data, is an attempt at understanding real phenomenon.
How to solve some of these issues? One conclusion offered:
Investments in education and training would help put Americans back to work in well-paying jobs, promoting economic security that can lead to more and better marriages—and better opportunities for the children of those marriages.

You know, like Democrats push for and are obstructed by Republicans on. Oops!

https://www.brookings.edu/blog/jobs...c-and-technological-change-on-marriage-rates/

Republican policies are an exacerbating factor here, because they exacerbate the wage gap year after year. The recent tax cuts for the wealthy, defacto putting more of the burden on the average American, is just another shining example of Republicans catering to the wealthy/corporations, and not giving a crap about the middle class and investigating in a stronger economy *for all participants*.

Give ANY example of the Democratic Party pushing to close the loopholes that allow the super rich to pay essentially no taxes - if not even the government paying them - and you have a point. But you can't. Just Demo talking points having no relationship to reality whatsoever. Rather, now the Democratic Party pushes to protect foreign child labor sweatshop imports - essentially protecting slavery so they can get cheap products - and for massive low skills immigrants to keep blue collar wages as low as possible.

OBAMA TARGETS

CARRIED INTEREST. Preferential treatment for private equity, venture capital and other financial managers that lets them pay the 20 percent capital gains rate on much of their income, instead of the higher individual income tax rate on wages.
OIL AND GAS SUBSIDIES. Energy sector tax breaks including the oil and gas well-depletion allowance; the domestic manufacturing deduction on oil and gas, and expensing of intangible drilling costs.
LAST IN, FIRST OUT (LIFO) ACCOUNTING. An accounting technique used in some industries, especially oil and gas. Companies say this change would force them to revalue old inventory to higher prices.
PROFIT DEFERRAL. A deduction for interest expenses on foreign earnings for deferred taxes.
FOREIGN TAX CREDIT POOLING. A loophole that lets companies claim more in tax credits than would be paid in U.S. taxes by altering which of their foreign units pay out dividends.
INTANGIBLE PROPERTY. A tax break that allows U.S. companies to shelter overseas profits derived from intangible property, such as royalties from drug patents.
CORPORATE JETS. A tax break used by corporate jet owners to depreciate fleets.
MINIMUM OVERSEAS PROFITS TAX. A minimum tax on overseas profits and using the revenues to help companies invest in the United States.

DEMOCRATS’ SENATE BILL
BUFFETT RULE. Named after billionaire investor Warren Buffett, a new 30 percent minimum tax would be applied on household adjusted gross income, phased in between incomes of $1 million to $5 million.
OIL FROM TAR SANDS. Oil derived from tar sands would be added to a list of petroleum products that pay into a liability trust fund to help clean up after oil spills.
DEDUCTION FOR MOVING OVERSEAS. This provision would end the ability of companies to take tax deductions for costs associated with moving plants and jobs overseas.

I mean, that was like the first thing to show up.

Are you really claiming that Republicans would support such things? You're dreaming, or trolling.

Say what, Tucker?

This is really sad. I mean, really sad. I guess Tucker pines away for the good old days when we wimmenz knew our places, which was home wearing our chiffon dresses and ribbons in our hair, waiting for our husbands to come home at night, putting his slippers on for him and fixing a lovely meal.

None of that addresses tax loopholes and only 1 mentions the rich and instead is about corporations.

Well, unfortunately, and surprisingly, that's a pretty big bubble these days.

I suspect mobs of angry children are more concerned with the lack of a fruit roll-up in their lunchbag today....

I didn't see much of anything about mobs of angry children trying to hide the reason for the alleged dying of the American dream, at least in the paragraphs I got through before I gave up on that pompous douche's article. He was going on about how he blames men making less than women for single parenthood and various related or unrelated ills.

If Carlson wasn't so contemptible, I might even be motivated to read the studies he claims prove this to see whether they actually do, or whether as I suspect they describe what is going on but do not reach the conclusion he stamps on them. Far too many armchair experts poke about until they find the study that says something sort of like what they want to say and then present it as something it in fact says explicitly, relying on the probability that none of their fans are actually going to fact-check them personally. Hey, it takes time, and their "smart" phones beckon...

For **** sakes, Carried Interest is a loophole.

Marriage rates are not as high as they once were because women now have an option of having a career themselves and being able to support themselves. Do you have any idea how many bad marriages there used to be? There are people that got married 50 years ago that have never liked each other. Today, those women that 50 years ago had little choice but to get married in order to get a piece of the American dream, have options today. As to manufacturing job losses, blame automation and container ships. There are not just less manufacturing jobs here than there used to be, there are less in China than there used to be. A good job today requires you to be highly skilled. That is not just the case in the United States, it is the case everywhere.

There are several million more women than men in this country. If a man is too much of a loser to find a spouse, he has no one to blame but himself.

This guy desperately wants to be a major player in US affairs, but nobody outside the right-wing bubble takes him seriously.

So you mean half the country takes him seriously?

Isn’t it telling the democrats entire political agenda is based on increasing taxes in the fewer and fewer people actually paying them?

If folks are federally under-taxed then there is nothing much preventing states from taxing them more. The problem, it seems, is that folks would then vote with their feet and migrate to lower taxed states.

Isn’t it telling the democrats entire political agenda is based on increasing taxes in the fewer and fewer people actually paying them?

How is that telling? The vast majority of the wealth is taken in by fewer and fewer people, it's natural to tax the same. You want to see graphs of wealth distribution trends? Surely you've seen enough of that if you post here on DP.

And yet rates of depression amongst women (and men too but not to the same extent) are at an all time high. In addition marriage is not about the two parties, it was traditionally about children. If you look up what happens to children of single mothers, you see much higher rates of school drop outs, higher rates of sexual violence (as both victims and perpetrators) it’s the single biggest predictor of poverty, a big contributor to mental illness. The breakdown of marriage as an institution in this country has not been a good thing for anyone.

He should hook up with Laura Ingraham, she hasn't had her ashes hauled in decades either.

But for god's sake, they need to use birth control.

Isn’t it telling the democrats entire political agenda is based on increasing taxes in the fewer and fewer people actually paying them?

That is how they intended to fix income inequality yet somehow never actually get around to making the uber rich (the donor class?) pay anywhere near the same percentage of tax on gross income or assets as the upper middle class must pay.

Wealth distribution trends are 100% irrelevant. People’s material standard of living in this country has never been higher. The poorest in America have access to luxuries the majority of Kings who ever lived couldn’t have dreamed of.

In fact the income of lower classes has increased as well, the fact the amount of wealth at the top has increased faster doesn’t matter. And in any event I’d rather rich tycoons have all the money then the government anyway

Tucker is married and has children.

But again, more arguments based off of perversion from the immoral left. It’s amazing how their minds go to gutter and they think it’s a valid argument
