Trumps Tax returns,

Let me ask all the tax experts around here a few questions:
1. Is it illegal to pay off a hooker through your business account?
2. How do you determine the value of a building you own?
3. If you're doing business with a foreign national how do you report that?

These are things Trump is accused of doing so I'm kind of interested to hear how you experts will deal with these matters.

Its interesting that his lawyer was convicted for #1, but Trump himself isn't going to face an indictment.

Don't you think that if there was actionable evidence of tax evasion in his tax returns, that Trump would have already been charged by the IRS?
Until recently he was President, so that wasn't possible.

I'm no tax expert, but as an ethical human being I'll answer number 2. Once I determine the value of a building I will use the same value for all purposes, not a high value for collateral in borrowing and a low value for tax purposes.
Without getting too in depth with regard to why your decision to use the same value for different functions isn't a matter of ethics at all my question was with regard to HOW you would make the determination of value. What steps would you take to figure out the value of a building you own?

Nobody used that as a justification for pulling his tax returns.
Right. It's just a really nifty side benefit and if we never find anything illegal then at least we can get that done, right?

Thank you for admitting that nobody wanted to see his tax returns "to prove he's not rich."

Next time, stick to what people say instead of what you imagine they're saying.

Whats the big deal? Presidents have been releasing their taxes for generations.

Cohen was convicted of paying off hookers? Maybe. That isn't the way I remember it. The way I remember it is that he plead to lying to congress in exchange for throwing Trump under the bus and then could never come up with the dirt he promised.

While Mnuching was running treasury, ummm, no The law says when the chairman of such and such committee requests the president's tax returns, they 'shall' be turned over to that chairman. Did that happen with Mnuching running treasury, ummm, no. Let's see what trump's returns say when gone over by a forensic tax examiner.

I'm more interested in what the state of new york says. I'm guessing they have the people who can answer your questions.

There are a lot of comments in this thread about how discrediting Trump's claims of wealth. Is that really a justifiable reason to pull his tax returns?
Nope.....so far down on the totem pole of Trump's sins.

Not necessarily. The IRS only gets his returns. They don't see the thousands of documents that his accounting firm are in possession of. They are by the way also turning everything over to the NY prosecutor. The grand jury will surely be busy.

I'm just enjoying watching suppos'd law and order, personal responsibility conservatives continuing to defend a New York City cook at every turn.

Depends on if he used those claims fraudulently.

Is there a justifiable reason for Trump to lie about releasing his taxes? Lying about his taxes being under audit? Lying about the reason that he couldn't release them?
You seem to be overly protective of Trump's taxes. Why is that? Are you afraid that you have been duped?

Trump said many times that he had done nothing wrong, or had nothing to hide. If so, why is Trump so worried? Also, somebody should remind him that he isnt president anymore and never will be again.

If the reporting is correct, he still may face the music for that. It may not be illegal to pay off a porn star, but it is illegal to misreport it as legal expenses on your tax return when they were not legal expenses. And I am quite sure the DA will turn up plenty more of this kind of cheating.

It may not be over in court yet because the last thing that the pond scum wants is his tax returns made public, it will ,once scrutinized, bring criminal charges. I said once he left office he will be spending the rest of his life in court or in jail and the joy of watching that is at the top of every patriots list.

Not only that, but Trump doesnt exactly sit down at his computer and do his taxes on TurboTax. There is an accounting firm and legal team that takes care of that. The idea that he is hiding something in his returns is preposterous.

There is a tape recording of Trump instructing Cohen to pay Stormy. Now, whether he used campaign funds to do it is unclear.

But yet nobody supporting Trump can explain why he has moved heaven and earth to keep them hidden. Want to give it a shot?
