Why do we want citizens tax returns again? Does the left not trust their very own weaponized IRS system?

Trump committed tax fraud, this was proved by the NYT iinvestigation, it consisted of several pages, with hard, tangible, evidence.


We need the President's tax return so we can know, for certain, if he is a crook or is in dereliction of duty to uphold the constitution.

Tax evasion and serious conflicts of interest, for example. We need to know this about the president, because, unlike you and me, his decisions affect THE ENTIRE FRICKIN' COUNTRY. Didn't you get the memo?

Why would the bill pass the Senate and not be vetod by Trump? I doubt it will become law while Trump is in the WH.

It could become law if there is a veto proof majority in the Senate. Whether there will be, probably will depend on the seriousness of what is gleaned.

He is an international businessman. He has contacts with many different countries, including Russia. We already know that and we already know there is nothing illegal about it.

An effort to determine whether or not the prez is a crook, is compromised, is making decisions not in the national interest, but in his interest, etc, etc., etc., is not "political", it's a matter of national security.

the administration will object to their release and this will end up in court...where it will be shot down as unconstitutional.

The problem is that if the government is allowed to conduct a search of a citizen's private papers without probable cause to conduct that search we may as well not have a 4th Amendment. Furthermore, if the government is allowed to conduct that search for purely political reasons we no longer have a representative government, we have a tyranny.

Trump evaded some 400 million in taxes, this was proved by NYT investigation, hard tangible evidence was uncovered. Also, it's clear the IRS did not prosecute, and we do not know why.

That's probable cause for an investigation. We need to know if our president is a crook, and to know that is not political, it's a matter of national security.

Do you think Hillary served up conservative values? Did her husband sexually harass and abuse women? Did Hillary defend her husband, even to this day, for his behavior? Did the Clinton Foundation accept money from all kinds of shady characters and countries who trod all over women? Does Hillary support pro-life? Is Hillary against gun control legislation? Is Hillary for smaller government? Is Hillary against exponential rises to the minimum wage? Is Hillary against illegals coming to this country and wants to do something about it?

There are three committees that can request ANY tax return. They may not disclose them, but they can certainly get access.

(f) Disclosure to Committees of Congress
(1) Committee on Ways and Means, Committee on Finance, and Joint Committee on Taxation
Upon written request from the chairman of the Committee on Ways and Means of the House of Representatives, the chairman of the Committee on Finance of the Senate, or the chairman of the Joint Committee on Taxation, the Secretary shall furnish such committee with any return or return information specified in such request, except that any return or return information which can be associated with, or otherwise identify, directly or indirectly, a particular taxpayer shall be furnished to such committee only when sitting in closed executive session unless such taxpayer otherwise consents in writing to such disclosure.
