Trump's Support Dwindling?

October 2020. That is almost 2 years ago.

I am hoping the Republican Party will move on from Trump.
See the OP again. I mistakenly put up the OP before it was finished. It is finished now.

I don't think the number of people he draws to his rallies is all that important.
What is important is that every republican candidate in every position everywhere bows down to him and begs for his endorsement. And those that get it definitely have a leg up over their republican rivals.
Unless or until the republicans have the foresight to kick this man to the curb, that control over the party is the key.

My biggest fear is that, just like in 2016, the media will spend time covering the circus, and in a sense, creating the story. In 2015-16, it was "Could this guy actually win?" The media paid so much attention to so much bullshit about Hillary's emails and Trump's trolling of first the Republican field and then the Democratic party. My fear is that 2022, Trump will run again and the angle will be "Can he win again?" and the media will focus on Hunter's laptop and whether Biden shits in his pants.

For this reason, assuming that the Dems get clobbered in November, I hope Biden and Harris will take the hint and move on, and then I hope Dems find a candidate who can spend less time talking about identity politics, chasing the Black vote, chasing the women vote, the Latino vote, and just go out and get votes.

cult members do not miss a rally. In one of the links given in the OP, there was an interview where a Trump supporter was asked how much he has spent going to his rallies and the man said he has never missed any and has spent over $30,000 in going to them.

The drop in attendance is a sign of trouble for Trump.

One can only hope. Maybe his "Putin is a genius" put a damper on the cult

The House Cmte on Jan 6 is going to make some criminal referrals to DoJ, so that might have something to do with it. But again, it's not like Trumputin has to worry: Garland doesn't have a spine.

At the least people have figured out that the Trump rallies are just about another Trump money scam.

But there are a lot of Trump-supporting posters on DP who do think it is important. I have read dozens of posts saying that they don't believe Biden could have actually been elected because he didn't have anywhere the number of supporters at his speeches as Trump did at his rallies. Thinking that this was an "American Idol"-type election.

I do not think he has the umph he used to have with the gop. DeSantis who used to ride his coattails now avoids him as if he were toxic. Trump is slowly but surely losing his mojo.

How many time would you like to listen to his greatest hits like "the crime of the century". He's like a boring old relative.

Most people are tired of The Donald.

He is really Mr. Yesterday.

He should just stick to trying to resuscitate his businesses.

Many people are looking for an attractive Republican candidate.

Someone who avoids criticizing the Dems, and who has a positive agenda for the nation.

There must be someone like that waiting in the wings.

America needs to move on from the Republican Party.
No, not saying we should only have ONE party...I'm saying they've screwed the pooch so badly that 98 percent of the current folks shouldn't be reelected for anything ever again, and
conservatives should put together a brand new party focused on actual conservatism.
It's just the marketplace of ideas and if real actual conservatives HAVE better ideas, they'll sell rather easily.

Well that and a week or so later asking Putin to help dig up dirt on the Biden's while Putin's forces were simultaneously murdering civilians in Ukraine.
You know, priorities first!

Yeah. But that's just Trump being Trump. ****er couldn't even make mail-order steaks great

Both parties are short on leadership.

That's certainly true, but by no means are the two parties on equal footing. No matter the flaws of the democratic leadership (and there are plenty), republicans are presently beholden to a pathologically lying narcissist who is hell bent on taking them all down with the ship. And they seem all too willing to go.

Amazing, isn't it? All they have to do is run a sane candidate and it's almost a shoe in.

But noooooooooooo.

just like with the attempted insurrection, pretty soon republican media will have convinced the rubes that some lib/black guy actually said it or it wasn't said at all.

The pictures coming out of Ukraine are gonna tell a different story. Dems would be stupid to not rub Trump's nose into it
