Trump's kowtowing to Putin edges us closer to nuclear war

"As Vladimir Putin pledges to retaliate against Ukraine for last weekend’s unprecedented drone attack, Kremlin advisers and figures around Donald Trump have told the US president that the risk of a nuclear confrontation is growing, in an attempt to pressure him to further reduce US support for Ukraine.

Kirill Dmitriev, the head of Russia’s sovereign wealth fund and an important intermediary between the Kremlin and Trump’s envoy Steve Witkoff, called the Ukrainian drone strike an attack on “Russian nuclear assets”, and echoed remarks from Maga-friendly figures warning of the potential for a third world war.

“Clear communication is urgent – to grasp reality and the rising risks before it’s too late,” Dmitriev wrote, adding a dove emoji. Ukraine claimed that the strike damaged more than 40 Russian planes, including Tu-95 and Tu-22M heavy bombers that have been used to launch cruise missiles at Ukrainian cities throughout the war, killing thousands and damaging crucial infrastructure that delivers heat and electricity to millions more."

For God's sake, give me a president with courage and conviction. Rather than acting like his lap dog, Trump needs to tell Putin to get the hell out of Ukraine or he ain't seen nothing yet. This foolishness has gone on long enough. Whatever happens is on him.
 
We lost a number of our nuclear capable B52s to Russian gunners over Vietnam. Would nuking either Vietnam or Russia have been appropriate? Take your toys to war and they may get get broken.

The leader of our country let's Russia threaten such a thing when they are the aggressor.

Putin should be told that if they engage in any nuclear shenanigans, we will destroy them.

If we had a leader with the courage and conviction to stand up to him.
 
Sometimes I do accept that Trumps attempts to befriend our enemies are genuine and at least worth trying. This however is not one of those cases. His bowing down at Putins feet and offering to suck his d*** is the very thing that might escalate the Ukrainian war. Totally wrong strategy. Trump is now well out of his depth, and intentionally or not, becoming a danger to us all.
 

Russia appears to be well aware of the situation. Stand up to Putin and do what?

I have said, tell him if he tries nuclear weapons we will destroy them.
 




He's not going to respond to any nuke attack, here or there.

I don't see Trump helping Putin at all. In fact Trump seems upset he's been lied to and has no leverage.

If he's upset, he should do something about it.

Putin is threatening nuclear weapons and he says nothing.

Ukraine is striking out on its own.

Its time for the president to stand up and show some leadership before things spiral out of control..

Ukraine has done nothing on its own. Things are already spiraling.
 
Indeed it is. It is also shared by those that voted him into power ....as he is not a leader , he is just a weak bully that is not all that bright. His claiming to end the war on day one is the ultimate in Trump STUPIDITY. There are TWO major dangersous messes on this planet and he is too inept to deal with either.......let alone domestic issues The man is delusional , unstable and a danger to this beautiful planet. ( as well as the US itself )
A seventy five minute phone call and NOTHING to show for it. a disgrace.
 
Why would Putin want the death of at least 90% of Russians?
That's what would happen in any nuclear war and the remaining 10% would envy the dead as Russia is going to be a smoking ruin.

Not only did he not stand up to him he asked Putin to help with Iran!!!!! What the HELL ! He whined and asked for help......

Well Iran is pissed at our bully tactics and our coup many decades ago. Funny how that works huh? Ya know being belligerent all the time tends to make people not want to argue with you or cooperate. Iran has the same rights as any other country.

We don't have the resources to pull that off. You really want to destroy the world over Ukraine and our puppet dictator there?
