"Julio Noriega, a 54-year-old man born in Chicago, was arrested Jan. 31 in suburban Berwyn while handing out his resume to businesses near Harlem Avenue and Cermak Road. When walking out of a business, Noriega was approached by ICE officers, who grabbed, handcuffed and put him into a van “without an opportunity to explain his citizenship,” according to the court filing.

Agents drove Noriega around for an hour before moving him to an ICE detention center, according to the lawsuit. About 10 hours later, he was released without paperwork and money after ICE officers discovered he had identification proving his U.S. citizenship. Noriega said he was never shown a warrant or asked questions to determine if he was a citizen or a flight risk, according to the lawsuit."

This is why I have been advising non-white citizens to be cautious and careful traveling, especially in public places. The only way these deportations were going to happen was by empowering a bunch of 20-something unemployed and poorly educated white men with little training or education and asking them to detain anybody they deem suspicious--with little training on what actually constitutes suspicious behavior, so you can imagine how they'd go about it. And that appears to be exactly what's happening.

Always carry a passport with you, only travel in groups, ideally with at least one white person with you, and always let family members know where you are and where you are headed if you happen to be on your own. Avoid travel to public facilities, absolutely avoid red states and rural areas, and above all, avoid international travel unless it is absolutely necessary. The modus operandi for these people will be "detain first, verify identity later" so unless you want to spend two weeks in a detention facility before some other 20-year-old gets around to actually looking at your identification, it's best to avoid these people as much as possible.

Finally, where legally permissible, this may be a good time to explore taking advantage of one's 2nd Amendment rights and making use of stand-your-ground laws should unidentified people show up and attempt to kidnap you without explanation or cause.

Maybe his parents were illegals and we should revoke his citizenship for job hunting while brown. Maybe we should revoke his citizenship just in case. If this doesn't feel just like "Brownshirt" stuff, what does? A citizen walking the streets looking for a job gets arrested and thrown in jail for no reason other than he is the 'wrong' skin colour. Then released from jail with no paperwork to show that he was ever arrested. I guess the Brownshirts were hoping he wouldn't know how to get legal representation, like so many of the poor people they victimize won't know. Still wondering what sort of country the maga cult are trying to create?

I wonder how much of the savings that DOGGY are making will be given up in legal fees and court awards for our govt ignoring our own laws?
 
This sounds very familiar....I think trump's minions did similar things during his first term, to people in cities on the West Coast.

Damn, Mr. Noriega could easily have been deported to that El Salvadoran hellhole. And he might never have been able to get out, much the less come home.

No warrant. But unlawful kidnapping and detention.

Illegally detained.

Forcibly detained.

And he could have been illegally and forcibly deported.

No one would have known what was happening to him. No one would have been in a position to keep him from being renditioned to a hellhole in El Salvador.

There is no voting against someone. Trump,by far got the most votes and was only about a percentage point away from a majority of all voters.
