For my hyper partisan friends I’m going to say that this is something potentially good from Trump that I approve of. Since I like it I have full confidence he with Taco to pharma.
 
90% of prescription drugs consumed in the US are imported. Tariffs on pharmaceuticals which Trump constantly threatens won’t do much to lower prices. But then he’s an economic illiterate so this ultimatum won’t go anywhere.

What's he going to do? Call them names?
 
Yeah I'm not sure why they think that the US has to pay a premium when a lot of these companies the US taxpayer funds the research as they do get grants from governments.

But the question is, is this going to be price parody or lower costs for the US. They may just jack up the costs on Europe but at the same time there's no rule that Europe can't have its own pharmaceutical research and then create competition for us drug firms.

So if big pharma in the US has to charge US citizens the same as Europeans that might mean they have to charge less because if they jack up the price on Europeans they might just start making their own drugs and then maybe if we can get some control over the FDA they might be able to import them.

This stands to be quite interesting.
 
Cut their funding. Fund instead research from pharmaceutical companies in different parts of the world.
 
Drug companies and the Insurance industry dictated terms to Obama during the lead-up to Obamacare. They said if he didn't take Single Payer off the table, all the millions spent helping pass the law would be redirected to make it fail.

So now Trump thinks he's so powerful he can simple rule be decree and tell these powerful corporations what to do?

Aren't they owned by billionaires?

Don't most upper class Americans have investment holdings in big pharma?

Has Dysfunctional Donald just set foot into a shit storm?

Dysfunctional Donald is deviating from P2025. The corporate overlords did not want Donald to do this. Is this Donald's idea of how to shift the news cycle away from Epstein?

Will this achieve the stated objective?

Will this achieve the alternative objective?

Well if it winds up putting pharmaceutical companies out of business maybe they'll lose their stranglehold on the FDA and we can start testing and importing drugs from foreign markets.

I have no love for this industry I think it's diabolical.
