What the hell was Trump thinking when he declared he had won the election before all of the votes have been counted? Did his inner circle not inform him on the basics as to how the U.S voting system works? Or was it something else?
 
This was his strategy for months as widely discussed. To make his votes count the first night, delay Democrats' votes, claim victory on early returns, and then attack any later votes as Democrats stealing the election with fraud.
 
He's setting the stage for political chaos if he doesn't win.

Doesn’t matter what Trump’s advisers tell him. The utterly amoral sack of shit only cares about winning by any means necessary.
