Who did you vote in 2016 and why?

I voted for Trump as late in the campaign I became convinced that he would follow through on the populist conservative campaign promises he ran on. And Hillary Von Pant Suit is Satan's bride.

I voted against Hillary. Bill is still the most corrupt President since WW II, but he was competent. Hillary is both corrupt and incompetent.

Johnson, my disdain for both major party candidates was that high. Actually any third name on the ballot would have done. Amazingly, both major parties managed to nominate candidates that 25% of all Americans didn't like and didn't want to become the next president. That included 54% of all independents.

You had Trump with a 39% positive or favorable rating, 60% negative or unfavorable. Clinton with a 43% positive vs. 56% negative. Questions 10 and 11.

It was like both major parties dug down as deep as they could to find the two most disliked and unwanted candidates available. Trump was able to win because independents disliked him less than they disliked Hillary Clinton. 57% of independents disliked Trump, but 70% disliked Clinton thus allowing Trump to win the independent vote and the white house.

Trump and Clinton were the only two major party candidates to ever be viewed higher than 50% negative/unfavorable in our history. Not even Barry Goldwater accomplished that. His unfavorable, negative of 47% is now the third highest negative rating, not the highest thanks to both Trump and Clinton.

Think about this, 10 million voters went to the polls just to vote against Trump and Clinton. To vote for a third name on the ballot they never heard of, a candidate with no money, no name recondition, no media attention, no way to get his message out, no chance of winning, just a third name on the ballot which wasn't Trump nor Clinton, not allowed in the presidential debates. But the desire to vote for anyone who wasn't Trump not Clinton was enough to get them out to vote for an unknown name, candidate they never heard of before.

We'll never know how many more voters stayed home not wanting neither candidate to become president. So why vote when both candidates are unwanted, disliked.

Voted for HRC---who else??
She was vastly more competent and experienced, Tough. Proven record. Smart. respected around the world. And she was running against a 5th Avenue, playboy-tycoon who was clearly, by any standard, unfit for the Oval Office----why the hell would ANY normal American have had trouble figuring 2016 out???

Who did you vote in 2016 and why?
3rd party (but i would change that if i could)

I made a promise to myself in 2008 to never vote for just the lesser of 2 evils.
To vote for who I truly thought would be a great president for america

in 2016, that promise to myself was challenged but i stuck to it and voted 3rd party because it seemed Hilary would win. And while i was not a fan of Hilary at least it would not be Donnie.

Well I was wrong, like lots or people. BUT I was more than willing to see how things went. I root for EVERY president. I want EVERY president to be successful because if they are that means America is successful. Well those hopes were greatly defeated and now history shows what a complete disaster Donnie was. It made me have huge regrets, again like millions of Americans did for not voting Hilary but I was also happy I kept my integrity and kept my promise to myself. It was a weird feeling.

Then 2020 comes, I again want to stick to my promise BUT Ive seen how horrible it could be if me and others not voting against Donnie could turn out. For me it was a SERIOUS dilemma. If I vote third party and Donnie wins again, id never forgive myself but at the same time, i want keep my integrity on my promise. So being that we witnessed the train wreck of the last 4 years I convinced myself to have faith that the majority of well-meaning people would vote enough for Biden/against Trump that I could keep my promise to myself and I voted 3rd party again.

Much to my delight, the delight of the majority of the country and the world Donnie lost! So I feel great about my decision.

If I could go back and do it over again knowing the info i do now. . . i would break my promise in 2016 and vote Hilary. My personal integrity over a promise doesn't out weight what would be better for the country.

Same here, voted for Hillary Clinton. Why would anyone want a sleazy, racist, ignorant conman playing in the White House with our country and our lives? Also, Hillary was right from the start about his being Putin's Puppet, only her basket of deplorables turned into a dumpster full. Now, the deplorables are not only putting the traitor over country and party, but they show how unpatriotic and un-American they are by getting wood over the trump incited insurrection against our government. They are American trash, just like he is.

I think we all can agree that both candidates were bad.

Bad is bad.

Bill wasnt that bad though.... I was making way less money under his era and I was still good on my bills and I felt I was finanacially much more stabiled. Today is so hard making a living.

The hildabeast competent and experienced? Yet she was defeated by a political novice? Where do you think she was competent? Certainly not regarding Benghazi, or Bosnia, where she falsely claimed she dodged sniper fire during a democrap primary debate. To be blunt, Hillary was not mentally or physically healthy enough to run for president much less serve as president. She could not get into a vehicle or campaign jet without falling down. She often needed assistance climbing stairs. And her adult diapers had to be custom made.

I gave him the benefit of the doubt too. Of course I wanted what was best for the country, and I said let's give him a chance. Perhaps he would get serious and do his job. Well, didn't take long for the world to see he was too ignorant and egotistical to change, and he couldn't give a shit about honoring his oath and doing his best for America and the American people. It was a train wreck, still having repercussions. He has done great damage to our country and our democracy.

Americans are so easily fooled into thinking a bad candidate would make a bad leader.

It's difficult to imagine Hillary handling the pandemic worse than Trump did, and fairly easy to imagine her handling it quite a bit better.

I didn't vote for either Hillary Clinton or Trump.

I couldn't have voted for Clinton or Trump. I went for Gary "Aleppo" Johnson.

Early in 2016, I said to some people that the Democrats could walk away with the Presidential election if they nominated anyone but Clinton. Then they nominated Clinton. When the Republicans nominated Trump, I thought they had found a way to lose after all. I was wrong about that.

I'm certainly glad Trump's four years are over.

Who did you vote in 2016 and why?
There was absolutely NO WAY I could vote for the corrupt, disgusting Hillary Clinton.

Trump? Ahhh...he was an unknown quality, but I liked his campaign policies and positions. I just wasn't sure if he would/could pull it off.

So...I voted for him. Giving him a chance was MUCH better than going with crooked Hillary.

Well...it turned out that Trump certainly would do everything he could toward his policies and positions. Unfortunately, the things that needed congressional support didn't happen because congressional support wasn't there...not from either party.

And what I believe NOBODY predicted...not even Trump, before he won the election...was the amount of opposition he would face from those who are wedded to the corporate globalism that had been entrenched and operating for more than 40 years. The opposition was outright ferocious. The globalists did everything they could to prevent Trump from being the effective President he was...even to the point of committing crimes against the American people. Very sad that they would do this.

But the fact is...TRILLIONS are at stake...and they still are.

I'll vote for Trump again if he runs and I wouldn't be surprised if the opposition takes it to the ultimate level if he wins again.

Sounds like the same dilemma I had with myself going all the way back to the mid 90's.

What a bunch of Gish Gallop bullshit. BTW... almost a countless number of republicans with vast amounts of combined "experience" lost to political novice and dopeyseniletrump.

My issue was i literally learned in high school in a current events class what a lying, bigoted, vile POS con man Trump was and always has been. Now with that said, i found him entertaining at times, like on Howard stern etc. I would laugh AT him. But at not time did I ever want him in charge of anything important. He bankrupt casinos for god sakes lol

Anyway, Trump was going to be Trump but i was hoping that maybe he would put his sleazy, lying, conman ways to work for America and not himself for once. (Yeah I know wishful thinking) Well boy was I wrong, he was totally about himself. Even after like what was it . . a month when he was on TV basically calling all our generals stupid and claiming he knows more about Al Qaeda /ISIS than all of them put together?? What a batshit insane loon he is LMAO but even then i still held out hope for like 2 almost 3 years then i gave up because there was ZERO reasons to believe he would be anything redeemable and not go down as the most dishonest, divisive and worst president in my life time by a mile.:(

We really need a viable third or fourth party.

If these past two elections are anything to base direction off of, we are in serious trouble as a country. With a population size of 700 million (?) we can't find any better candidates than these dumb asses?

Yes you libruls also should have learned from Trump winning the GOP nomination in a field of 17 GOP candidates, some of them quite high profile.

I voted for the Honorable Donald J. Trump because -- as usual-- it was a matter of the lesser evil.

I disliked how the Honorable Hillary Clinton pandered to a certain group (that group did NOT reward her with a huge turnout as they did for the Democratic candidate in 2008 & 2012).

During the next four years, the current Administration will no doubt find a nice position for her.

That would be very nice. She was crushed when she did not get the nomination in 2008 and doubly crushed when she lost in 2016. So it seems only proper that she be rewarded for her service to the Democratic Party. (Maybe appointed to the Supreme Court?)

Who did you vote in 2016 and why?

I voted for Hillary Clinton (she was not my primary choice) because her name wasn't Donald Trump.
