Trump visits California as Western wildfires emerge as campaign issue | Reuters

(Reuters) - The wildfires sweeping the Pacific Northwest assumed center stage on Monday in the U.S. presidential race, with President Donald Trump set to visit California after blaming the blazes on poor forest management and his Democratic challenger, Joe Biden, stressing the role of climate change in stoking the fires.

The Republican president, seeking re-election on Nov. 3, is due to meet with firefighters and emergency officials in Northern California. Democrats have blasted Trump for remaining mostly silent about the largest wildfires in state history, except for his efforts to blame the blazes on failures by the state government.

Biden, slammed by Republicans for failing to visit disaster areas, will speak from his home state of Delaware on the threat of extreme weather that experts have said is responsible for the wildfires.

A blitz of wildfires across Oregon, California and Washington state has destroyed thousands of homes and a half dozen small towns since August, scorching more than 4 million acres (1.6 million hectares) and killing more than two dozen people.

Drone footage on Monday showed hundreds of homes reduced to ashes in the southern Oregon communities of Phoenix and Talent, around 5 miles (8 km) south of Medford last week, as a wind-driven firestorm raced north, blowing embers into trailer parks and residential subdivisions.

If the climate changes & the amount of rainfall decreases, I think you can blame these fires on climate change.

I understand that most of the forest land involved belongs to the Federal Government. If forest management is to blame, blame he Feds.

One serious issue the president is addressing is the attempted assassination of two Los Angeles Sheriff's Deputies. While we don't know who the shooter is, we do know that democrat terrorists from the BLM klan blocked the entrance of the hospital treating the deputies and chanted "hope you die bitch"

The president intents to visit the Deputies and their families.

Beijing Biden has publicly condemned the would be assassin, which is a big step for Xi's man in Washington. However, he has not condemned the actions of the Biden voters blocking the entrance and screaming for the death of the Deputies.

Newsom, who is responsible for the disaster of the wildfires is a Marxist, like Biden and a strong Biden ally.

Remember when he tried to threatened to cut funding for firefighting in California last year? I wonder what he'll do for an encore.

How is Newsome responsible for fires on federal land?

The issue goes deeper than just "blame the feds". It is true much of our national forest are overstocked and in poor health. What we see in some of the damage done with todays wildfires is poor zoning and building regulations set by local and State officials. It is the local and State failure to implement Firewise standards. The wildland urban interface is a big issue. It will take all parties to reduce the risk.

{“There is no reason for these massive, deadly and costly forest fires in California except that forest management is so poor,” Trump tweeted last year.

Zinke went even further: When “we try to thin forests of dead and dying timber, or we try to sustainably harvest timber from dense and fire-prone areas, we are attacked with frivolous litigation from radical environmentalists who would rather see forests and communities burn than see a logger in the woods.”

Californians created their current apocalypse
For his forthright approach, Zinke became green enemy No. 1, before he was bundled out of office this year in a stitched-up scandal over charter planes.

But there was a similar, although more diplomatic message from the bipartisan Little Hoover Commission in a report last year condemning California’s forest mismanagement. It said that plans for prescribed burning “to rid the forests of dense ground cover often clash with regional air-quality regulations … Finally, familiar old divisions between the timber industry and environmentalists hinder policy goals to thin overgrown forests to their original conditions.”}

Devine: Mismanagement, stubbornness have set California ablaze

Gavin Newsom (no e) is a radical leftist and an e-wacko. The state because of insane enviro-wacko policies has crushed all attempts to clear and manage forests and is 100% responsible for the conflagration.

None of that explains why Newsome would be able to do anything or prevent anything on federal land.

Yep. The elephant in the room is the broader impact high heat and droughts are causing which allow for these fires to become more common. Climate change debate aside, there's still the practical matter of sorting out what this means for towns in these fire prone areas and how best to prepare for these kind of calamitous events.

Reading comprehension is a feature of intellect, hence it is of little surprise that Communists are so lacking in the skill.

Gov. Newsom (no e ) is responsible due to over 300 lawsuits filed by the state to stop virtually all forest management, as the article so clearly spelled out. Newsom, (no e) in appeasing the radical environmentalist left created a tender box, which both he and Brown before him created through idiotic policy crafted by Hollywood bimbos rather than by sane and rational foresters.

Okay, we're done here.

Some rain might help also. A daytime high of 120 degrees in some parts of Cali doesn't help either. Both undeniable effects of climate change.

So basically, your weird, anti-science religion based on a 2500 old Greek goddess, Gaia purporting a sentient planet that is angry at our Carbon Sins rather than the idiocy of whack job morons filing suit to stop logging and other overgrowth management is the reason?

BWAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA

That's one hell of a strawman you have there, Sparky.
