More right-wing war with the dictionary. Trump is getting his ass handed to him for shutting the government down so he's trying to rebrand it as the fault of the workers now. Typical Republican tactic.

Trump told lawmakers he prefers word 'strike' to government shutdown, sources say

President Donald Trump told congressional leaders during a meeting Friday to try to negotiate terms to re-open the government and that he preferred the word "strike" in describing the ongoing government shutdown, a person familiar with the meeting and a Democratic aide told CNN.

Trump also kicked off the meeting with a profanity laden opening salvo lasting more than 15 minutes in which he made it clear that he had no plans to move on from his demand for $5.6 billion to build a border wall, according to a person familiar with the meeting.

Strike?

From the online dictionary—“. A cessation of work by employees in support of demands made on their employer, as for higher pay or improved conditions.

Wasn’t/isn’t against the law for Federal employees to “strike?”

Was for PATCO in the 1980’s.

I don't even know how to interpret this. Trump's on strike?

- First he said most of the people going without pay due to his choice to shut down the government, were mostly Democrats.

- Then he claimed just recently that most of the workers suffering due to the shut-down, were OK with it because they support Trump's wall and hostage tactics.

- Now he's saying the workers themselves chose to stop working?

The stupid it hurts.

Nice try A H! He's not allowed to rewrite Webster's. I don't think his temper tantrum shutdown is helping his popularity.

If Trump is on strike, let's bring in a scab to do his job.

It shows that he is treating this like one of his businesses taking on a union.

What's worse is that his cult following believe every single twist in that craptastic spinning you just noted.

I say it's more like a lockout. Sure federal employees who are locked out can go to their work. They're just not going to get paid. So in a way it's more cynical than an actual industry lockout.

I honestly don't know how many really believe a word he says.

I see plenty of evidence on this forum that many of his supporters know better, and simply do not care and will say whatever they believe needs to be said, to back their position/candidate, etc. Including lies, covering up crimes, covering up corruption, blatant contradicts, shameful and embarrassing denials of reality, and plenty of flip-flopping.
After all, what's the downside...they may win if they are loyal over ethical...you can't punish them for their lack of ethics...can you? Hell, we can't even punish Trump for his lack of ethics, and he's a constitutionally sworn public servant.

Yeah, his supporters know he is full of ****, all the time. They go with it because Trumpism is an ideology based on inflicting harm to one's perceived enemies. That's all they care about. It makes liberals mad, therefore it is good.

... is this what taking ownership of the shutdown looks like?

Sent from Trump Plaza's basement using Putin's MacBook.

Yep, once again Trump attempts to avoid personal responsibility.

Give Trump credit, he is a very accurate representation of his base. No wonder they support him so steadfastly.
