I hear it has answers to questions like his.
 
The UK doesn't spend 5% on defense so I assume we're in the bad books as well?
 
I also love how Trump asks the question, "Are they a BRICS nation?" seems to have a sudden 'whoops! I should know this one!' moment and then confidently follows that with "They are a BRICS nation"

Predicting it now: Trump will have a press conference to discuss BRICS. He will have a giant poster with BRICS in big bold letters with the name of the countries under each letter. But under S Trump will have South Africa crossed out in permanent marker and replaced with Spain.

Gasbag can literally go from asking a question--"Are they a BRICS nation?"--to acting like a blowhard know-it-all--"They are a BRICS nation. Do you know what a BRICS nation is? You'll figure it out"--in five seconds.

He's lucky he's so insulated. In a regular conversation with a normal person, he's perpetually at risk of getting throttled.

Seriously? I can’t believe this. This is the guy running our country now? Because he says he knows more than all the generals? And economists? And doctors? Because he alone can solve it all? The guy who doesn’t want to miss out on Hannity by having to listen to Pentagon and CIA briefings?

Lord have mercy on this nation for the next 4 (hopefully) years.
 
To be honest, not knowing what BRICS is is not that surprising. The BRICS nations have never figured out what BRICS is, how is someone not part of BRICS supposed to understand it then.

IMO BRICS is the most important global political development in decades, especially for the US.

Cute, but nobody was asking for a deep dive. Trump was the one asking whether Spain was part of BRICS. Because he does not even know what countries are involved.

If someone doesn't know Brazil, Russia, India, China and South Africa I wouldn't trust them to run a city, let alone a country. As Craig noted, as one of the most important geopolitical developments in decades it's pretty low-key general political knowledge and for a politician not to know that by now suggests a disturbing lack of curiosity and general awareness of their world. I suppose if they had a lot of other excellent qualities they could get a pass on that as a mayor


If someone doesn't know Brazil, Russia, India, China and South Africa and just decides on the fly in a public interview that they'll use Spain as the S because at the moment they don't remember any other countries beginning with S (despite his new boss being from there) I wouldn't trust them to run a ****ing lemonade stand.
 
That’s a thing it’s easy to forget about Trump. With all the insults and posturing and braggadocio, it’s easy to forget how profoundly ignorant he is on every subject. He’s a know nothing dummy who thinks he’s the smartest, most knowledgeable guy in the world. An unfortunate combination.
 
He knows this, he is still trying to “baffle them with bullshit.”
