DOGE at work. The company has received more than $113 million in federal government spending since Mr. Trump took office,
Michael Flynn suggested martial law long ago. And, that's exactly what would happen. There would be civilians shooting National Guardsmen, and vice versa. Game over. So, it's what I thought it was all along. A scheme to defraud the citizen taxpayers of every last cent in the U.S. treasury et al., and take it all for themselves and their billionaire overlords while making any claims by the citizens irrelevant. It won't stop there of course. The country will be a criminal dictatorship where the citizens will be reduced to slave labor, and they'll do it if they want to keep breathing.
The only chink in the armor I can see is the fact that the citizenry has all the guns, a few hundred million of them. Gee, I wonder what could happen if that many people got organized. Take a look at the end of Mussolini, or Ceausescu, if you want a look at the real potential of America's future!
I'm talking about a possibility. The citizens outnumber the military by a huge margin, and the gun totals in citizens hands would be the game over if they could/should get organized. Usually, that is not necessary if the government, or leader, is behaving horrendously, which is already the case in the U.S., if you consider what happened to Hussein, Gaddafi, Mussolini, Ceausescu etc. The wildcard is that the majority of voters elected Trump after he did what he did in 2021, and despite the obvious, they don't seem to care when he tells them to their face he will steal from them. This is the benefit of creating a well nurtured cult of hate ahead of time.Michael Flynn suggested martial law long ago. And, that's exactly what would happen. We KNOW that agencies are operating on antiquated software and dont communicate with one another re social resources and beneficiaries. making known data accessible to agencies is now 'diabolical'? I guarantee you...there is more publicly accessible information on every one of us on the internet bought and sold daily than what the government has.
That doesnt mean the government should be intruding in peoples lives. It DOES mean it should operate more efficiently. Had it done so, I wouldn't have needed to submit information and evidence literally from grade school on when I needed to renew my passport...they could have simply checked the database to determine that i was a fully vetted military member with a TS/SCI clearance and all this crap has been done already...numerous times.
What data does the government have on you when you file for services? So just to be clear, for the sake of efficiency you would be okay with our Federal government having a comprehensive profile on you and ever single member of your family? Because keep in mind, this would include:
1. Your income.
2. Your entire medical history information, through HHS, the VA, Medicare, and Social Security (if you were disabled).
3. Your criminal record.
4. Your travel history, because your license plates can be tracked to say nothing of plane or train tickets.
5. Any and and all non-cash purchases that are run through banks and credit unions, because whenever you use your credit card or use your bank's debit cards, that information can be tracked. So the government will know ever place you have visited and every good or service you purchase with a card or bank check.
6. Your internet search history that is not run through a VPN, and the sites you have logged into and the things you have said on those sites from your IP address, including on this site.
7. Your television watching habits if you have a Smart TV, like a Samsung.
8. A transcript of everything you have ever said in the presence of your Apple or Samsung smart phone, as it is recording you at all times, even the things you mutter under your breath as you are driving about the town. And now the Smart Phone can and likely does scrape that data and gives it to the NSA, either willingly or unwillingly.
In the end, the Federal government would know you more intimately than your wife, predicting ever single one of your movements from a rich tapestry of data that it will collect from you over the days, months and years.
Is that really worth handing over the Federal government for the sake of getting a passport a day or two sooner? Only the guilty need fear anything?

Except gun ownership overwhelmingly skews towards conservatives and conservatives would be siding with the Trump government.
At all costs, even to themselves and their families? If so, you describe a brainwashed cult perfectly.Except gun ownership overwhelmingly skews towards conservatives and conservatives would be siding with the Trump government.

Democrats and Leftists love Authoritarianism as long as they get to be the Authoritarians. The NYT would not have an issue with this under a democrat administration. Just more partisan hyperventilating from them and their toadies.
So... is this move by Trump a good thing or a bad thing?Democrats and Leftists love Authoritarianism as long as they get to be the Authoritarians.
Obama spied on Americans, threw journalists and their sources in prison, and ordered the killing of four American citizens without due process. Also, Bill Clinton started the practice of extraordinary rendition that George W. Bush got excoriated for during the War on Terror. Yet, Obama and Clinton are beloved figures in the Democrat Party.

From what I little I know of it, it sounds like a bad thing.So... is this move by Trump a good thing or a bad thing?
