President Donald Trump said his administration may impose a “toll” on cars crossing into the U.S. from Mexico to finance construction of his promised wall on the southern border.

“They’re going to pay at the border, at the gate, cars going through, we’re going to do a toll -- or we may do a toll,” Trump said during an event in Yuma, Arizona, where he touted construction of the wall.

The president has long faced criticism that he has failed to meet a campaign promise to make Mexico pay for the border wall.

Given the fact that Mexico doesn't exactly have the balls, or ability to deal with their own problems. I don't honestly care.
Most people didn't really care for the wall and it was seen as a nice little gesture to ensure some form of security for our own citizens. Then people came out and called the wall, not the people who supported it's construction mind you. But the wall itself, racist.

I'm not even against charging a toll to cross certain borders. Some US/Canada bridges/tunnels charge a toll. But this would not be funding an actual border road, bridge or tunnel, like those are. It also would not be Mexico paying for the wall. It would more likely be Americans that travel to Mexico paying. And there is little reason to believe Mexico wouldn't also implement such a thing if we did.

What did that have to do with anything I posted? Its from 2017 and pretty much just said that Mexico, rightfully, refuses to pay for the wall. Mexico would not be paying for the wall. Mostly Americans and some citizens of some other countries would be paying. More likely, it would simply increase the cost of goods on this side, so more Americans paying for a wall most dont want.
