Trump says Canada is being unfair on trade, making vague complaints about dairy and border crossings:

So what evidence is there that Canada is being a bad actor when it comes to trade and the US is being completely fair when it comes to trade, because Canada thinks the US acts unfair on trade sometimes:

Let's just forget it, go back to how it was before the free trade pact. It all just seems not worth the aggravation.
As nice as that sounds, I don't think we can. It would cause the collapse of the automotive industry, and the chain reaction would be staggering, in all three countries.
But again, I don't think we need to, and the short sightedness of the Americans at this point is dangerous. We're they're second highest trading volume partner, with a vastly lower deficit compared to the rest of the top 5, while having a much smaller population than any of them.
What I don't get is why they come after us, but stay ass up with cheeks spread to accept **** from China. You'd think they'd start with their biggest trade deficit (by FAR), instead of with us. I'm no MBA, but I can't see the logic or sense in it.
As usual our President Trump is spot on.
Perhaps during President Trump's second term he could find any means to build a wall along the Canadian border.

Trump never 'thought' about any of this ****; all Trump did was spew **** about 'trade' during the campaign so, that the masses would 'buy' it (and they bought it) and give Trump votes.
Now when it comes down to actually doing something about trade Trump can't deliver on his campaign rhetoric aka BS, and nothing will change.
It was all just a grand 'dog & pony show' for the trailer trash redneck voters that fell for Trump's BS.

It's all nothing more than rhetorical posturing...from both Trump and Trudeau.
Bottom line...Canada will negotiate NAFTA to the satisfaction of all three countries or NAFTA goes bye-bye. If NAFTA goes bye-bye, the two countries will then have to negotiate unilaterally...to the satisfaction of both countries.
Fair enough, if Trump is willing to bargain in good faith, then things should go fine, but if he tries to make Canada sign an unfair deal, Canada would rather have no deal and let everything be decided on a case by case matter at that point.

"unfair deal"
That's subject to interpretation by either side.
I don't know...Canada certainly may decide to let NAFTA fall by the wayside. Their choice.
Why would we want to buy from Canada when the profits go to China?!?
"China’s government is seeking full access to Canada’s economy in free trade talks, ... Though China has been among the most vocal countries in resisting the protectionism of the Trump administration, critics say the country is itself a bastion of protectionism. They note China allows almost no foreign investment in banking and telecommunications. ... "
China Wants Total Access To Canada, May Seek To Import Its Own Workers
So far, Trump is trying to promote a deal that give the US more access to Canada's markets and Canada less access to the US market:
U.S. makes 'aggressive' demands to access Canadian dairy market, wants end to supply management - Politics - CBC News
Canada has change its laws to allow American dairy products in (and despite restrictions, the US sells more diary to Canada then vice versa), while the US can impose tariffs on Canadian goods at their leisure, Canada has give US companies more access to their infrastructure programs, while insuring Canadian companies will get less access to US infrastructure programs. No country will sign such a one sided deal.
If the US wants to do these ''Buy American'' tariffs, fine, but there will be a cost, US goods will get tariffs imposed upon them in response:

He seems more interested in punishing Mexico and Canada for slights, real or imagined, negotiating a realistic deal:

"... In its current form NAFTA became an exploited doorway into the coveted U.S. market. Asian economic interests, large multinational corporations, invested in Mexico and Canada as a way to work around any direct trade deals with the U.S.
By shipping parts to Mexico and/or Canada; and by deploying satellite manufacturing and assembly facilities in Canada and/or Mexico; China, Asia and to a lesser extent EU corporations exploited a loophole. Through a process of building, assembling or manufacturing their products in Mexico/Canada those foreign corporations can skirt U.S. trade tariffs and direct U.S. trade agreements. The finished foreign products entered the U.S. under NAFTA rules.
Why deal with the U.S. when you can just deal with Mexico, and use NAFTA rules to ship your product directly into the U.S. market? ..."

''Conservative tree house'' is not a good source of news, they have a habit of pulling things out their butt. So what do want, to micro manage who Canada and Mexico trade with outside of the US? Make Canada and Mexico sign one sided deals, where only the US benefits?
What about all the jobs trade with Canada and Mexico creates in the US?
This is exactly how many American jobs depend on Canada?U.S. trade

China and Mexico have been trying for 10 years now to come to an agreement on a trade deal. The problem is: Mexico does not have the money/market/economy to buy Chinese goods/products/services and China does not need anything from Mexico - except for Avocados maybe.
Mexico's #1 trading partner is USA. Not a good idea to peeve off the trading partner that allows your economy to even exist.

Conservative Treehouse is not a news website - they analyse the news.
For the last 2 1/2 years, since I came across that website, their analyses and predictions have been almost 100% accurate.
