Trump Reprises Bull Moose Party

Who did the Bull Moose Party put in the White House?

None, and the party didn't last long. Maybe that's what the OP is getting at.

There are at least two threads about how Trump is the second coming of Teddy Roosevelt and it's been mentioned in more...are all these posters the same folk? Posting the same thing multiple times, trying to make it seem like there's popular support for this incredibly laughable position that Trump is like T.R. Seems odd.

Let's remember that Teddy Roosevelt was shot.......and gave his speech anyway, saying, "It takes more than that to stop a Bull Moose!"

Judging from both the popularity of Trump and the rage and hate toward Trump and the current BLM tendency to use firearms to solve problems--I'd say Trump has a fifty-fifty chance of getting shot in the next few months.

You heard it here first.

The Bull Moose Party was the intellectual precursor to the New Deal coalition.

In no way does Trump resemble Teddy Roosevelt, nor does his coalition sound anything like Teddy's Republican Party or the briefly-lived Bull Moose Party.

Actually, Teddy was a rich man like Trump, a strong man like Trump and shared a lot of Trump's attributes. Trump's sons are big game hunters just like Roosevelt's famous hunting son.

Teddy wanted prosperity and lower taxes for the common man and Trump's stance seems to be the same.

Teddy referred to himself as a Bull Moose for his entire long political career.

Allright. Where'd this talking point originate? A Trump-supporting PAC? Trump website? I've already seen at least one other thread today claiming that Trump = T.R.

For anyone who knows anything about T.R. (start with Edmund Morris's biography), the claim is laughably false.

As with anything regarding Trump.

I'm not sure where this push of Trump = T.R. came from, but there are a couple posters on DP pushing it for some reason. It's clearly false, Trump is in no way, shape, or form 1/8 of the man T.R. was.

Oh, let's think rather than react.

What would Teddy say about Muslim Terrorists?

How would he handle them?

What would Teddy say about our Latino and Mexican illegal immigrants? Pamper them?

What would Teddy say about cop-killers?

Invite them to the White House for tea?

Thinking with the brain is not all that difficult.....although REACTING from the gut may be more fun.

Christianity is not the creed of Asia and Africa at this moment solely because the seventh century Christians of Asia and Africa had trained themselves not to fight, whereas the Moslems were trained to fight.

Christianity was saved in Europe solely because the peoples of Europe fought. If the peoples of Europe in the seventh and eighth centuries, an on up to and including the seventeenth century, had not possessed a military equality with, and gradually a growing superiority over the Mohammedans who invaded Europe, Europe would at this moment be Mohammedan and the Christian religion would be exterminated.

Wherever the Mohammedans have had complete sway, wherever the Christians have been unable to resist them by the sword, Christianity has ultimately disappeared. From the hammer of Charles Martel to the sword of Sobieski, Christianity owed its safety in Europe to the fact that it was able to show that it could and would fight as well as the Mohammedan aggressor...

The civilization of Europe, American and Australia exists today at all only because of the victories of civilized man over the enemies of civilization because of victories through the centuries from Charles Martel in the eighth century and those of John Sobieski in the seventeenth century.

During the thousand years that included the careers of the Frankish soldier and the Polish king, the Christians of Asia and Africa proved unable to wage successful war with the Moslem conquerors; and in consequence Christianity practically vanished from the two continents; and today, nobody can find in them any "social values" whatever, in the sense in which we use the words, so far as the sphere of Mohammedan influences are concerned.

There are such "social values" today in Europe, America and Australia only because during those thousand years, the Christians of Europe possessed the warlike power to do what the Christians of Asia and Africa had failed to do — that is, to beat back the Moslem invader

Teddy was not "Politically Correct."

BLM has a tendency to use firearms to solve problems?

LOL! Where? When?

Ferguson, Baltimore, New York, Dallas, Baton Rouge.......and next? Just about anywhere.

Let's not forget the 21 cops injured in the St. Paul riots......one with a serious broken vertebra.

So, IOW, you have nothing and can't back up your claim.

Thanks for clearing that up.

Let's start with the fact that Theodore Roosevelt hated being called "Teddy." That was a derogatory name used by his enemies. Those who use it today pretending that they are knowledgeable about Roosevelt are actually getting mixed up between him and "Teddy" Kennedy.

There will always be overlapping qualities between people (the Hitler / Trump comparisons are at least as compelling as the Trump / Roosevelt parallels). Yes, Roosevelt was born to a wealthy family but he was born and bred to be a politician - which he was all his life. Trump is a businessman. One key difference: Could you imagine Trump setting aside vast amounts of American territory and making them off-limits for developers?

The one major similarity comes from Mark Hanna's famous remark at the 1900 Republican convention: "Don't any of you realize that there's only one life between that madman and the Presidency?" A similar statement might be made during this convention: "Don't any of you realize that there's only one more Hillary Clinton scandal between that madman and the Presidency?"

Amazing the lengths some people will go to to assure their little fantasy worlds aren't torn apart by reality.

LOL!

Says the man from the fantasy world of BlackLivesMatter.

Ask the cops......the ones still alive, I mean......well, the ones that have recovered sufficiently to talk.

A little over 40 cop casualties in the war BlackLivesMatter started at Ferguson by falsely accusing Darrin Wilson.

Trump is not a hunter like Roosevelt.....but his sons are avid big game hunters and they have tremendous influence as part of his rather small inner circle.

Yes, I could see Trump protecting public lands for hunting and other recreation.

What cops were shot by BLM members?

Go ahead and name some names of the victims and the shooters.

Look up the names of the cops shot by BlackLivesMatter terrorists in New York, Dallas, Baton Rouge yourself.

Back to Roosevelt.......

https://actjonesboroar.wordpress.com/2012/07/29/further-revelations-from-teddy-roosevelt-on-islam/

Roosevelt in 1916 delivered a preemptive strike on Political Correctness. It is now doctrinaire on the Left to believe all religions are equal. All religions (with the possible exceptions of Judaism and Christianity) are equally valid and deserving of respect. Of course, Islam (de rigueur) cannot and should not be criticized or debated by any one. The viewpoint elevates Islam to a supremacist ideology. On this Roosevelt writes, “To make a statement that all religions are the same is as naive as saying all political parties are the same. Some religions and belief systems give a higher value to human life and some religions and belief systems give a lower value.”

Using that logic Sarah Palin = Teddy Roosevelt.
