well folks, he finally said it. He finally said what he wanted to do since 2015. Start an international conservative network that rivals CNN (Fox News?) Trump may be looking for his next gig soon anyway...

In two tweets on Monday afternoon, Trump said that “something has to be done” and suggested the United States start “our own Worldwide Network to show the World the way we really are, GREAT!”

Trump Slams CNN Again On Twitter, Proposes 'Starting Our Own Worldwide Network'

This should be fun... :popcorn2:

Nixon already helped Roger get trained for government TV which he later turned into Fox news. Why does he need more than Fox?

What an ignorant remark. He's already got at least two such networks: VOA and Fox.

Having them both, why is Trump so preoccupied with CNN? Particularly when MSNBC, not CNN, is the ideological opposite of Fox?

I assumed that was his end game when he announced his candidacy. And I think he has a sizeable enough base that it would be profitable.

Hehe...never count Ol' Shroomy to mess up something that just about anyone else could make a profit on.... ;)

True, I imagine building a profitable news network is harder than building a profitable casino. And we know how Trump did with that.

lol...that...or tariffs putting GM on the mat...or the "big win" vs Canadian dairy resulting in further crisis in the American dairy industry... Those are just a couple threads from today!

Pure private, right?

"The US" should start a news network? No, thanks.

He as a private citizen can start one if he wants. I can't imagine it being much different than Fox, though.

LEFT BIAS
These media sources are moderately to strongly biased toward liberal causes through story selection and/or political affiliation. They may utilize strong loaded words (wording that attempts to influence an audience by using appeal to emotion or stereotypes), publish misleading reports and omit reporting of information that may damage liberal causes. Some sources in this category may be untrustworthy. See all Left Bias sources.

History

The Cable News Network (CNN) is an American basic cable, satellite television channel and website. It was founded in 1980 by American media proprietor Ted Turner as a 24-hour cable news channel; however, by April 2016, a CNN executive officially described the channel as “no longer a TV news network” and instead as “a 24-hour global multi-platform network.” CNN has multiple international stations covering all regions of the world. CNN has been inaccurately criticized as being fake news by President Trump and many of his supporters.

Funded by / Ownership

CNN is owned by the Turner Broadcasting System (AT&T – Time Warner). The television stations and website is funded through cable subscriptions and an advertising model.

Analysis / Bias

CNN has a left bias in story selection that often favors the left while being critical of the right. For example, during the 2016 Presidential Election Pew Research concluded that the majority of CNN stories covering President Donald Trump were negative. While less dramatic, Pew also determined that more stories were negative toward Presidential candidate Mitt Romney in 2012.

CNN typically utilizes loaded emotional words in sensational headlines such as this: Trump pounces on Justice Department report findings. CNN usually sources its news properly through credible reporters/journalists and through hyperlinking to credible media sources. However, CNN has failed numerous fact checks from Politifact. It should be noted that these fact checks were almost exclusively from guests on their numerous talk shows and not from the reporting of actual news, which tends to be factual.

Overall, we rate CNN left biased based on story selection that often favors the left. We rate them Mixed for factual reporting due to misinformation and failed fact checks from guests and pundits. However, CNN’s straight news reporting would earn a High rating for factual reporting. (5/16/2016) Updated (D. Van Zandt 6/15/2018)

Sounds like he wants to make a publicly funded news organization. So yea, nope. We don't need that.

Right wing TV for the Trumpkins by Trump himself. State TV in the mold of the perfect authoritarian autocrat.

Fits like a glove it does.

I am sure the Russians would bail him out in that venture also.

When the Democrats reoccupy the White House in January, 2021, all the media (with the possible exception of FOX) will be fawning over the new president, regardless of who s/he is.

So millions of Americans (including me) will want to hear what the Honorable Donald J. Trump thinks about what the new president is doing.

Hopefully, Mr. Trump can have at the very least a weekly hour show on FOX.

Democrats, of course, will be shouting, "Our long nightmare is over!" Mr. Trump can explain why our national nightmare may just be starting. He may be able to galvanize Republicans and Independents to return a Republican Congress in 2022.

Well he can continue his clown show

Makes me remember John Stewart's nickname for Trump;
**** Face von Clownstick.
