President Donald Trump on Thursday said he would send law enforcement officials to polling locations to guard against voter fraud in November's election, although it's not clear he has the authority to do so.

"We're going to have sheriffs, and we're going to have law enforcement, and we're going to have, hopefully, US attorneys, and we're going to have everybody and attorney generals (sic)," Trump said during an interview on Fox News with Sean Hannity.

Trump's comments come as his campaign works to recruit tens of thousands of volunteers for what Republican officials have said could be their largest poll-watching operation. Even before Trump's comments, his party's plans to monitor the polls have sparked charges from Democrats and voting-rights groups that Republicans are gearing up to suppress voting in key states.
The President has repeatedly claimed, without evidence, that voter fraud will undermine November's election results.

Wow. Trump is willing to sic law enforcement agents on people who want to exercise their constitutional rights and vote.

This is classic voter suppression being authorized by a thug of a president. Our democracy is under assault.

If it plays out like it looks right now, it will likely be a superspreading event. Vote early, and by mail.

Of course, he has no way to actually do this legally, as law enforcement at non-federal locations is controlled by local and state police

This whole ‘not clear he can’ is absolute bull****. It should be clearly stated that he’s lying and intimidating voters baselessly.

Yep.

Also, don't be surprised to find some of Trump's militia thugs at polling stations this November. No doubt he'll tell them to "LIBERATE!" again, only in blue states of course.

Remember when two Black Panthers stood by a single voting station in Philadelphia and the right wing lost it's collective mind at voter intimidation?

I'm sure we'll get the same reaction here of course.

Trump would never stoop to such despicable tactics.

He’ll only use white people.
