What is your opinion of trump thinking over an EO to try to force banks and others to his will?

The White House is preparing an executive order to impose penalties on banks allegedly discriminating against conservatives and cryptocurrency firms, according to a report on Monday.

Who does this man think he is, king of America?

 
Why are banks allowed to discriminate against anyone?

If his EO just says to treat everyone equally I have no issue with it.

Really think about that for a second. Lets say the banks decided they only want to loan to white people. Is that ok?

So on trump's word alone now you too think banks discriminate...and they do, towards black folks. Is trump black?
 
This is more about helping himself and the crypto bros steal.

Also: his EO's are trash. They are not legally binding.

If a bank decides they don’t want to loan to gay people because of their “Christian convictions”, should the government force them to?

Trump and conservatives say no. They say businesses have the right to deny service to anyone.

Ok, ok, make accusations but let's compare to Biden since he was the last democrat President. On the issues of the past election which appeared to be most in the minds of voters, Border enforcement and illegal immigration, trans women in Women's athletics, enforcement of criminal activity, were issues that the republicans won bu 80%+ according to polling.
So I guess you won't mind me accusing Biden of being a President for just democrats or maybe just illegal immigrants?

Seems like a change, you didn't say they were not discriminating, you just said Trump was telling them not to discriminate.

"Allegedly" - meaning any bank Taco feels is very mean and very unfair to him.

This reads like setting up the framework for those Trump favors to have legal recourse if banks deny them for some reason to then cite discrimination as a reason. The same goes for crypto, so think of this akin to lawsuits to chill speech for the media.
 
So, Trump is adding "conservative" as a protected class. What is he talking about? That leaves him and MAGA out.

Is Trump defining this new protected class or are we on the honor system?

Honestly, it's okay with me. You think it doesn't happen? They have a few token minorities, but if you walk in the boardroom you got a dozen white guys. Fine with me.

There are Black businesses that hire only Black people. I don't care.

DEI is also fine with me. If you're running a business you get to decide who you want to hire. Simple.

It'll sort itself out because talent, and business sense, and work ethic have no race or color. So someone will pick them up.

The party of small government strikes again.
