I've heard from a number of Trump supporters on this site that Trump doesn't actually lie. He exaggerates a little bit, he talks off the cuff and might get mixed up, or get a statistic wrong as anyone would every once in a while, but he doesn't lie. We even had a thread a while back with Trump supporters that asked for a single example of Trump lying because they didn't actually think he has told a lie since taking office.
I saw this tweet this weekend and just laughed to myself because it's a perfect example of exactly the kind of things you have to deny in order to hold that stance.
Wow, the fake news just completely made up that he'd talk with iran with no conditions. Wonder where they got that idea.

I think this is a great demonstration of why I think Trump is so bad for our country. He is the most powerful man in the world. Whether you like the media or not, whether you think they are fair or not, he is literally attacking the media for reporting something that he has explicitly said more than once. He is denying the very plain reality of what he has said. Trump supporters want me to be ok with him leading the country when he will literally attack a news organization for reporting exactly what he said. This also lets us know that when he attacks or accuses the FBI, or another country, or anything for that matter, of doing something wrong that there's always a (very good) chance that he's really just attacking them because he doesn't like them or doesn't like what they are saying and not actually because they are doing anything wrong. This kind of behavior shouldn't be tolerated. I'm fine with a politician trying to focus on the good in order to sell himself or trying to convince people that he's done a good job. You expect that. But to just straight up lie like this is not ok.
