The Republicans were on the ropes.

The business Republicans were voting for the Democrats whenever one of their own was not nominated.

The Christians and the Patriots were not strong enough to win without the traditional Republicans and the traditional Republicans could be bought off.

Enter Donald Trump. Trump was the first Presidential Candidate to stand up for the working man.

Hillary gave up any chance of winning when she said, "We are going to close down all of the coal mines and put all of the coal miners out of work."

Blue-collar workers are the only large group of voters who are up for grabs.

Everyone else is hard-wired to one party or the other.

The Republicans have no chance of taking any of the minority groups. All of whom want some special considerations.

The Democrats have no chance of taking the Christians or the Patriots who love America.

The blue-collar workers are the only voters up for grabs.

Whoever grabs them off wins the next election. In two years the same deal will be dealt out.

Race is done as a consideration. Trump trumped it by giving minority voters a chance to vote for American jobs.

Jobs with decent pay are what we want ,, and slave labor is what the Traditional Republicans want. (The Democrats want the Illegal votes even if it means our losing our jobs to them.)

Can the Patriots and the Christians, and the hard-working blue-collar workers hold it together?

If they do, the next election will be a tough one for the folks who hate America.

Trump has the hearts of the blue-collar workers right now.

If the Republicans go with Trump, they win. If they dump him, a new party will soon emerge and we will then have some really interesting three-way races.

The Republicans would be squashed but maybe they could drain off enough votes to give the Democrats the Presidency.

If you wish to win, follow Trump's plan. Graboff the hard-working blue-collar men and women.

Why do blue-collar workers vote against their economic interests?

Republicans have once again shown their disdain for the interests of all but a few of their constituents by voting to end the estate tax. What is worse, if they are successful in the effort now or in the future, the Republican Party will have done economic damage to essentially everyone who voted them into office.

It seems evident to the outsider that Republicans feel completely comfortable in voting against the interests of their constituents because they know they have either short memories or no memory at all.

Take, for example, Speaker John Boehner (R), who represents Ohio’s 8th Congressional District, which has a total population of 721,486. One percent of the households in his district earn over $200,000 per year. The median household income is $50,750. Over 220,000 of his constituents receive publicly sponsored healthcare (ObamaCare), and 71,000 have no healthcare coverage. Twenty percent of his constituents live below the poverty level. The unemployment rate runs above the national average. The mean value of homes in the district is $135,000 and only 506 houses in the district are valued at over $1 million. In 2014, Boehner received 67 percent of the 185,000 votes cast, meaning that a mere 23 percent of the eligible voters in his district elected him.

Even under the most generous set of assumptions, it is clear that virtually none of his constituents will benefit from this latest vote. If anything, given the Republican Party’s efforts led in part by Boehner in ending the estate tax, services to 40 percent of his constituents would be cut as the result of his efforts. This level of indifference to the needs and interests of his district raises questions as to why he has been reelected 10 times with no substantial opposition.

The other concern is much more philosophical. There are two parts to this. First, large inheritances are manifestly dangerous to the future of a democratic state, as they breed a class of people who have no connection to merit, work effort or social progress. They do not favor intelligence as much as indolence. If one believes in equal opportunity — a favorite Republican meme — the abandonment of estate taxes does nothing to enhance it. In fact, it violates the American concept of a social contract. To quote Wikipedia: “Where these powers are unequally divided from birth, questions of fairness arise. The same arguments that justify wealth disparities based on individual talents, efforts, or achievements, moreover, cannot support the same disparities where they result from the dead hand (inheritance).”

Obviously the more they cut off their own noses the more they 'own the libs' and after all, isn't that what it's really about?

*A-hem*

Claiming that Trump was “the first Republican president to stand up for the working man”.....or even that he did so in the first place.....is laughably inaccurate.

And no, his cult is not “patriotic” in the slightest. “Patriots” don’t run around flying the Confederate flag bud.

Republicans are the most evil, cynical creatures on the planet.

When they lost an election, they just declare victory and claim the other side cheated.

Republicans think it's ok to attack the Capitol if they lose.

They hate gay people, trans people and people of color and try constantly to abuse them.

To Republicans, crimes can only be committed by their political rivals, while Republicans can do no wrong.

In short, Republicans suck.

Who knew that creating a schism within the Republican Party was a positive…

Good post, true.

Someone said,

"Claiming that Trump was “the first Republican president to stand up for the working man”.....or even that he did so in the first place.....is laughably inaccurate."

OK, tell us which Democrat, or which Republican Presidential Nominee, during our lifetime, stood up against free trade with slave nations.
Tell us which party nominated a man who actually did something to close our border to cheap labor.
Tell us which Democrat or Republican Candidate believed in, "America First."

In recent decades all of them wanted cheap labor that the American worker had to compete with.

Not even Ronald Reagan fought for our jobs. Joe Biden has now opened the flood gates and the American Blue Collar workers will pay a huge price for that.

You don't have to believe me. Look at where the Republicans gained voters. Some blacks and Hispanics moved to Trump. West Virginia Unionized Coal Miners came to Trump in droves. Black Policemen moved toward Trump.

The Union Presidents gave lots of money to Joe Biden and Hillary Clinton, but the Union workers went big for Trump.

Only minorities and the elite who want slave labor have been moving toward the Democrats.

The only places where Biden won were places with huge numbers of illegals that were allowed to vote.

You can say that these Union Workers didn't know what was good for them or that they willingly voted against their own interests.

I guess that is your only way to explain why Joe has so little support from blue-collar workers. Rational thought is not your strong suit. People who disagree with you must be purposely voting against their own interests.
