Trump Makes His Own Head Spin Talking Foreign Policy

The Republican front-runner delivered his most scripted address yet laying out what he called his 'consistent' and 'unpredictable' national security ambitions....

As an added extra per foreign policy...

Inside Trump adviser Manafort’s world of politics and global financial dealmaking

Top Trump foreign policy wonk Paul Manafort worked as an adviser to deposed Ukrainian president Viktor Yanukovych (wanted by Interpol) and lobbied for corrupt billionaire Russian oligarchs.

Manafort would like nothing better than a Trump administration in bed with the Putin regime.

I saw Trump's foreign policy speech the other day and couldn't help noticing how self-contradictory and incoherent the prepared speech was. Trump spoke about increasing the military (something I thought wasn't a problem) but at the same time talked about reducing our military presence. He spoke about using secret operations (something already done e.g. bin Laden) but also using massive force. Trump seemed not to understand or grasp that the problem isn't defeating ISIS, who have mainly light arms and pickup trucks, which can easily be subdued by U.S. forces but what to do the next day. The chaos that would arise would be similar to the aftermath of the 2003 invasion of Iraq. We had no trouble getting to Baghdad but we were stuck there for many more years.

Trump also seemed to have no appreciation for alliances that the U.S. built for decades.
