This woman explains it better than I could (complete with actual news reports) but here's the gist...

Massive shortage of workers/doctors/nurses at the VA
Shortages are at crisis levels
The massive shortages are at every single one of the 139 VA medical centers in our country
The shortages are FIFTY PERCENT MORE than last year which includes...
  • Doctors
  • Nurses
  • Police
  • Custodial workers
  • Etc
This government report is only thru April (so it's even worse by now)

This is all happening under Trump/MAGA. So remember, it's on him.

But don't worry, uber rich people are getting richer while our Vets are getting hammered.

Trump doesn't like veterans who need healthcare.
CNN- Hundreds of thousands of veterans listed in the Department of Veterans Affairs enrollment system died before their applications for care were processed, according to a report issued Wednesday.

The VA’s inspector general found that out of about 800,000 records stalled in the agency’s system for managing health care enrollment, there were more than 307,000 records that belonged to veterans who had died months or years in the past. The inspector general said due to limitations in the system’s data, the number of records did not necessarily represent veterans actively seeking enrollment in VA health care.

In a response to a request by the House Committee on Veterans Affairs’ to investigate a whistleblower’s allegations of mismanagement at the VA’s Health Eligibility Center, the inspector general also found VA staffers incorrectly marked unprocessed applications and may have deleted 10,000 or more records in the last five years.

In one case, a veteran who applied for VA care in 1998 was placed in “pending” status for 14 years. Another veteran who passed away in 1988 was found to have an unprocessed record lingering in 2014, the investigation found.

For more than a year, CNN investigated and reported on veterans’ deaths and delays at VA facilities across the country, including detailed investigations in November 2013 and January 2014 examining deaths at two VA facilities in South Carolina and Georgia.

VA Disability Benefits Under Trump in 2025: Reforms & Updates

February 12, 2025

Changes to VA Disability Benefits Under Trump

This administration focused on transforming the VA to better serve our veterans. Key changes made during that time include:

The VA MISSION Act of 2018

The Passage of the VA MISSION Act in 2018 This law was intended to increase veterans’ access to health care by expanding how veterans could receive care outside the VA system. It also consolidated community care programs so that veterans could more easily see private doctors if they were facing long wait times or lived far from VA facilities.

The MISSION Act provided veterans with prompt medical evaluations – a key component in evaluating the disability and determining their eligibility and compensation.

Faster Claims Processing

The Trump administration had prioritized processing the backlog in disability claims. In working to modernize the VA’s systems and hiring more staff, the average time it took to process claims went down drastically. Veterans who applied for disability benefits during that time also tended to receive decisions more quickly than in previous years.

Increased Accountability

Trump signed the VA Accountability and Whistleblower Protection Act into law in 2017, giving the agency authority to more easily fire employees for misconduct or poor performance. This law increases the quality of service veterans receive, including help with disability claims.
As you know, the Trump administration led the most sweeping reforms in the VA system, improving access to health care, reducing veterans’ claims backlogs, and addressing toxic exposure. These reforms remain in effect, ensuring millions of veterans access the benefits they have earned and deserve.

Well Trump is ****ing up.

He/they can say whatever they want (like the lies they will tell about the economy and our economic numbers) but they're still ****ing up.

And real people feel it. And many of those people are Trump voters. And they will get more irate with each passing day.

Trump is delivering for veterans, but some are standing in the way

Most recently, I was surprised to see the level of misinformation in a VFW “Action Alert” criticizing a bill in Congress introduced by retired three-star Marine general Rep. Jack Bergman, R-Mich., last month called the CHOICE for Veterans Act of 2025, H.R. 3132. Since the draft bill, which just cleared the House Veterans’ Affairs Committee, allows VSOs and fee-based disability claim assistance companies to coexist, VSOs are trying to sink it. That approach is harmful to veterans.

Here’s a look at fact vs. fiction about this congressional action compared with what some VSOs are saying:

Fiction: The bill puts veterans in debt.

Fact: It protects veterans by blocking payments upfront and ensures they don’t get charged more than they earn. Veterans only pay if they increase their benefits.

Fiction: Veterans won’t be told about free assistance.

Fact: It mandates the VA show clearly marked notifications on its web portals that free help is available from VSOs and congressional offices.

Fiction: The bill strips veterans of control.

Fact: The opposite is true. It gives veterans more options on claims assistance, not fewer. In addition to VSO and congressional free help, they can work with independent small businesses that charge fees if they win results.
