Trump has had a lead in the national polls twice and been tied twice (according to real clear politics poll average) in 16 months. He has about a 15% chance of winning and I think that's being generous. Going against the most unpopular democratic candidate in recent history, he is set to lose by 7 percentage points and be no where close in terms of electoral college votes. Literally any of the other choices would have done better and most would have probably won. The media narrative with a quieter, more cautious candidate would have been mostly about Clinton's near indictment and the Wikileaks releases rather than sexual assault allegations and "twitter meltdowns". By all accounts, the selection of Donald Trump has given the democrats the white house, a great chance at the Senate, and a puncher's chance at the House. It's given Hillary the chance to solidify a liberal SC. He has essentially given up trying to win, is only going to bask in the praise of his fan base for the next 3 weeks, and is doing his best to take the reputation of the party down with him. Are any of you who supported him brave and honest enough to admit that maybe that was a bad idea?

Before you say it, I didn't support Hillary.

By all accounts, the establishment will have it's way...regardless. Didn't matter who Hillary ran against.

Donald Trump SAID the things his base wanted to hear.
That said, as sad as it is, Too many Americans are intellectually absent and vote their emotions, party lines or on personal agenda grounds rather than a realistic look at what's best for the nation as a whole.
There were no other candidates that were not establishment owned or strong enough to lead to the changes his base wants.

But remember, even with a Hillary political victory, America will lose heavily in terms of personal freedom, national security and Justice. On those 3 essential and important fronts, I think it's demonstrable that she will lead America down a dangerous path.

By the end of her first term we will more than likely be facing war with at least Russia if not Russia and China.
By the end of her first term we will likely see millions of America hostile immigrants pouring into the country wreaking havoc and with that an insurmountable strain on the welfare system resulting in more chaos.

So, was it a bad idea? Maybe. But I think that no matter who Hillary faced, her lapdog media and in her pocket DOJ and FBI would have vilified them just the same.

I think we may see the first states break away from Federal chains and some of the first large scale armed protests and demonstrations under Hillary.
People can only take so much.

Thank you for your honest answer. I can't agree that Hillary would have won regardless. Donald Trump is the least liked candidate in history and he's still managed to lead in the polls a few times. She barely put away a no name 74 year old socialist.
