Trump is a cheater. We all know this. Now Texas GOPers are doing his bidding too.

By cheating.

Weeks ago there was no plan to redistrict Texas, then Trump told them to.
“Redraw the maps so I get more GOP favored districts.”
It’s being done in the open.
Trump and the complicit republicans are clear in their purpose.
To cheat.
To choose the representatives they want in power, instead of letting the voters do it.
The people are supposed to decide their representatives.
If you find yourself arguing for these cheats, you are complicit as well.
You are cheating.
By cheating in this way, Trump can try to avoid dealing with a Congress that might hold him accountable.
That might act as the check on presidential power that they are supposed to be.
Unlike the one he has now.

It is tragic.
 
This cheating goes against the basic idea of our democracy.
 
Republicans violate the intent of the US Constitution.
 
Republicans are anti-freedom.
Republicans support authoritarianism.
Republicans want to tell people how to live.
Republicans want to pick winners and losers.

Republicans want white male winners.

The rights of Black People, Brown People, Women, Gay People, and Trans People are being suppressed.

Republicans have their heads up their ass. The billionaires have Republicans wrapped around their little finger. Republicans are using xenophobia to get votes to get power to serve billionaires. Billionaires get a permanent tax cut when they should be paying more to pay for our government. Everybody else gets a temporary tax cut, a teaser cut. There should be no cutting at all. We don't have enough revenue. Republicans have shown that even after drastic cuts to government services it is still not enough to reduce the debt or even the deficit.

It is irresponsible and reprehensible for the billionaires to get their way when the country is going to shit. Billionaires need to pay more. Much more.

We need to take our country back and tax the crap out of billionaires and set this country right.

We need to rebuild our government to serve the people, not the billionaires.

Billionaires have already ripped us all off with all their marketing tricks. Smaller package sizes, crappy products designed to wear out faster, all the greedy corporation tricks they can think of. Billionaires got our money, then used it to buy government and turn government against us so it caters to them.

America has a billionaires problem. We have to fix our billionaires problem. We have to get the big corrupt money out of government and return government to We, The People.

Maga is complicit. Maga is stupid. Maga must go.
 
Maga is too conned to even understand how foolish and duped they come across. If they had any idea how they appear to someone who is not conned they would be embarrassed/ashamed/want to stop it. That's not happening because the con is so complete. Maga has been told that everyone else is "stupid" and "doesn't see it," apparently the way to a glorious rich white male dominated Christian authoritarian nation.

We, the not-conned, need to continue to explain to them, the conned, that they have actually been conned. They don't see it.

It is remarkable that they reject science, historians, teachers, the more unbiased of the traditional news, and those studied in social hierarchy throughout the ages; they reject all of that, and believe a game show host who 3 times married a younger trophy wife, has no love, no friends, bankrupted multiple times, sued up one side and down the other, been in court more than anyone, an adjudicated rapist, constant liar con man, has paid millions for his lying, and a convicted felon is their beacon of truth. That is how powerful the con is. It uses xenophobia, hatred and peer pressure to manipulate their support, even though most of the Republican party tried to resist in the beginning, but then caved one by one or got tossed out of the party.

And now this guy is implicated in a child rape as a friend of convicted child sex ring felon Jeffry Epstein. And still maga clings to their position because ego won't let them admit their colossal mistake.

Definitely too conned to know what's good for them. And because of that the rest of us and the world are dragged through this stinkeroo mess.

That is some kind of con!

I do. What trump is doing just takes it another step. It’s a pretty blatant abuse of power, you must admit.
As I said, weeks ago there was no plan to redistrict Texas.
Gerrymandering needs to go away everywhere. Instead, its is getting worse.
If this is allowed to happens with no consequences, then both parties will be constantly doing it.
What a circus.

Im not surprised it’s happening, just sunned at how blatant it is.

I would only modify that to say it is specifically the Trump Republicans.

Texas is a petty clear example. The trumpers are openly cheating at trump’s behest.
Because he is very afraid of dealing with a functional Congress - as opposed to the one we have.
The current one lies down and shows him their belly.
Every time.
They are apparently unable to stand up for, well, anything.
 
We have to understand the difficult position @eohrnberger finds himself in. Donald has endorsed Texas’s effort so @eohrnberger is obligated to support it, and Donald has opposed California’s response so @eohrnberger is under strict orders to lambast it. Yes, these are inconsistent positions to hold but @eohrnberger has no choice in the matter. He’s been given his orders, and he has to follow them. Hence, his posts.

Appears that the Dems have already beaten the GOP at cheating, and ignoring the will of voters in the states below, considering the already heavily gerrymandered states by the Dems:

IL: 43% voted for Trump, only 3 of 17 Representatives are GOP (17%)
MA: 36% voted for Trump, No Reps are GOP, all 9 are Dems (0%)
NY: 43% voted for Trump, only 7/26 Reps are GOP (26%)
CA: 38% voter for Trump, only 9 or 52 Reps are GOP (17%)

The Texas gerrymandering is just for the GOP stay even with dem's cheating, and the Dems scream bloody murder. Go figure.
Apparently in the Dem's view, only Dems should be permitted to gerrymander.
Such an entitlement attitude. Such hubris.

So we are seeing CA which is already a single party state, becoming even more so a single party state.

Will the CA voters stick to the principals they voted in? (The non-partisan independent commission and their districts?)
Or will they succumb to the California Democrat political machine? I guess we'll see with their vote this November.

Democrats claim to want to take 'the California model nation wide', clearly, they want a single party nation.
 
We on the left want a single party nation as your party tries to steal away five democratic seats in texas by gerrymandering. Why are you talking about the principles of the Democrats with all the underhanded shit the gop has pulled? Cutting food stamps and health care for the poor so the super wealthy can have more. So Christian like, no?
