What a charitable way to avoid saying "nonexistent." Yet the WSJ noticed that the president has nothing to offer on one of the issues most important to voters. Well, nothing other than a lawsuit to bring back pre-existing conditions, strip coverage from tens of millions, and upend the American health care system.

Trump Health-Care Agenda Still a Work in Progress
The recent pledges have drawn attention to a challenge facing Mr. Trump: Neither he nor his campaign have identified a second-term health-care agenda, and his administration lacks a clear plan if the Supreme Court strikes down the ACA. The Supreme Court appears unlikely to hear the case before Election Day.
Democrats have stepped up criticisms of Mr. Trump on health care, and presumptive Democratic presidential nominee Joe Biden’s campaign launched ads in Iowa emphasizing his own focus on health care, while accusing Mr. Trump of destroying the ACA, which expanded health coverage to tens of millions of uninsured Americans.

The Democratic strategy played well in the 2018 midterms when Democrats regained the House and took nine governorships by portraying Republicans as a threat to health coverage and protections for people with pre-existing conditions.

A Gallup survey released in January found that 81% of Americans said candidates’ views on health care were either extremely important or very important in influencing their votes for president—higher than any other issue.

Trump and the Reps healthcare agenda is to eliminate millions from Obamacare so as to reduce risk to insurers and increase business profits. That's their ideology. Period. Leave everything to the private mkt. Let profit drive decision on who gets what for how much w/o govt oversight of any kind nor say from the avg American. You won't be able go fit a microchip in the suggestion/complaint box.

Can any Republican here point to any functional example of their desired healthcare system anywhere in the world? Just one example, past or present, to show us how no regulation of any kind and just an ayn-rand free-for-all? Somalia perhaps?

What happened to the big beautiful plan Trump said he was signing a couple of weeks ago?

Problem with the GOP in general.

They completely **** the bed about Obamacare, it was the ultimate crime against the American people, it was terrible, awful, had to be destroyed.

REPEAL AND REPLACE they cried!

But, after 10 years they still have NOTHING besides screwing over anyone with pre-existing conditions.

And here’s the kicker, there are many people who could one day find themselves on the receiving end of that, who SUPPORT IT.

Their primary concern isn’t their health and well being and those of their loved ones, it’s whether HMO’s will continue to be profitable.

Mind. Blowing.

When the democrats come up with a plan to buy up all the hospitals, clinics, etc, instead of forcing their will on private businesses, I will believe they are serious.

I wish. Unfortunately Trump has a lot of dumb leftist economic beliefs in his head.

You mean without political "oversight", which is nothing but a gift to special interest groups in the healthcare industry. Note that your government "oversight" doesn't prevent Americans from being charged $12 for a dixie cup or for a new mother being charged $40 to hold her own baby:

A woman had a baby. Then her hospital charged her $39.35 to hold it. - Vox

This disgusting system is what political "oversight" has created.

Why would Democrats come up with a plan to buy all the hospitals? And what does that have to do with Trump’s lack of a health care agenda?

Because you cannot force a non-profit system onto a privately owned for-profit model and not expect to have your cancer treated with leeches and rubbing spit on it.

Nothing. He simply has no response as to why the GOP has no better plan to replace the ACA after 10 years of time to iron it all out.

Their healthcare plan in 2017 (AHCA/Trumpcare) would have removed healthcare insurance from 24 million Americans and ended mandatory coverage of preexisting conditions.

Such a deal (for the insurers and hospital corporations).

There aren't as much of those kinds of charges under a universal system. It isn't "oversight" that causes our system being nearly twice the cost of developed nation universal system. It's being controlled by for profit insurers and big pharma, among a few other things.

Most hospitals in the United States are already either non-profit or public hospitals.

It is about half and many of those non-profit or public hospitals will nail you to the cross with your first bill beating you home from there. They are just as likely as a for-profit hospital to slap you silly with judgments and garnishments.

1. It’s 75%, not half.

2. If you’re now arguing that ownership status doesn’t matter because they all face the same economic incentives anyway, what was your original point? Why should the Dems be demanding conversion to public hospitals?

Those non-profit hospitals do not have non-profit suppliers and are not staffed by volunteer surgeons. Medical care is not just about hospitals. Got to an emergency room in a great many of them and you are getting a bill from the doctor, a bill from the hospital, a bill from lab companies, a bill from imaging people. That is my point. There is still a lot of profit in even the non-profits as well as the profits.

Two weeks it was going to be ready to fly! Where did it go?

Both republicans and democrats have been forcing their will on private businesses for generations.
