Trump halts work on 80% complete offshore wind project, citing bogus ‘national security interests’

The project is just temporally shut down for a security review. We don't want our key energy infrastructure stamped with the 'made in China' label. Its too easy for them to manipulate it for politcal and military purposes.

So why then cancel all the clean energy projects that were meant to compete with China in that space? Trump is letting the Chinese dominate in one of the fastest growing sectors. Instead of investing in American manufacturing he's killing it and handing it to China.....all 'cause clean energy is "woke". Just SMH at the stupidity.

This is a Danish wind farm developer. Your excuse is even more lame than the white house. It's just another stupid thing trump has ordered and benefits not a soul but potentially hurts many.

Just because its a Danish project doesn't mean it doesn't use Chinese components. China is the largest manufacturer of wind turbine components by far.

I’m no fan of offshore wind. In fact, I’ve been opposed to these projects.

But stopping them at a federal level by utilizing bullshit reasons isn’t the answer. And it does nothing.

Now you’ll wind up with a half-completed project sitting off the coast causing its own set of headaches and problems.


But idiot MAGAs and this idiot Administration don’t do things intelligently.

The company had satisfied all the requirements and started construction two years ago. Will they now be reimbursed for their lost investment?
 
The link also quoted Trump or an administration official as mentioning “farm destroying solar.” What’s that all about?
 
The only reason I can see that the project can be stopped by the president is if it is using federal funding.

The alternate energy pundits keep telling us it is cheaper than fossil fuel, so damn. It does not need any federal funding. If it is profitable, investors would be lining up to fund it.

I see this as a proper stoppage of wasting federal funds. Let the recipients of the power fund it.
 
I read a bit on it. So apparently this was part of the Biden administration expenditures claiming more USA jobs. Shouldn't all the sourced material be USA made as well?
