Trump extended Secret Service protection
for 14 members of his family as he left office

By Carol D. Leonnig / Jan. 20, 2021 at 3:38 p.m. EST

In the days before he left office, then-President Donald Trump instructed that his extended family get the best security available in the world for the next six months, at no cost — the protection of the U.S. Secret Service.

(snip ... )

A president can order Secret Service protection for any person he choses, but it is highly unusual for a president to provide 24-hour security to such a large number of family members, including so many grown adults.

(snip ... )

The perk for the Trump family is expected to cost taxpayers millions of dollars and further stress the elite federal security force, which in the past four years had to staff the largest number ever of full-time security details — up to 42 at one point, according to former senior administration officials.

****ing grifters.
Javanka won't even let them use the damn toilets!
They will REALLY need protection
SOON...

Meh. Six months isn't that big of a deal.

Here's an article that isn't hidden behind a paywall.

It sounds like a large number, but it's his children and their immediate families - 4 households + 1 single child, and includes his own household, which is already entitled to protection. The article also notes that the three preceding presidents made the same request - the difference being that they had fewer children and they were younger, without families.

This seems to be a quite reasonable request, given the situation.

The Secret Service will protect Donald Trump, former first lady Melania Trump, Barron Trump, Ivanka Trump and her husband and four kids, Donald Trump Jr. and his four kids, Eric Trump and his wife, and Tiffany Trump, according to The Washington Post.
...
It is not an unusual move for a president to ask for extended security protection for immediate family members. Former presidents Clinton, George W. Bush and Obama all asked for extended protections for their daughters after they left office.

It is when the secret service isn’t allowed to enter the Trump premises and is forced to rent properties so they have somewhere to set up shop and use the bathroom to protect 14 members of Donald Trump’s family. All on our dime. It cost us $944,000 in golf cart rentals just to follow one Trump around Mar-a-lago. Imagine 14 of them.

They probably need protection from the Q nut jobs.

Well, we'll see how the impeachment affects that.

I don't have a problem with them having protection. The last thing we need is some violent shit putting their lives at risk. However, I oppose other typical perks, as he fomented an insurrection.

The Donald is a badly daddy

Cant a multibillionaire who gave up his salary while taking millions in fees every time he visited his locations afford a better service that isnt tax payer funded?

Why does rugged outdoorsman like Don Jr need government protection?
