Trump envoy slammed for "damaging incompetence" over Putin talks

Michael McFaul, a former U.S. ambassador to the Russian Federation, accused Steve Witkoff of "deeply damaging incompetence."

Steve Witkoff, who is Donald Trump's personal envoy to Putin and Zelenskyy, has no experience whatsoever in government or foreign affairs. He is a real-estate and investment mogul from the Bronx who has donated to the Trump election campaigns. He is a Donald Trump sychophant and he worked on Trump's 2016/2020/2024 election campaigns. This is akin to you or I appointing the local State Farm insurance agent to negotiate peace between warring nations. Witkoff's raison d'être is to do Donald Trump's bidding and carry out Trtump's instructions. For many weeks now Vladimir Putin has been waging a war of terrorism on Ukraine, every night sending kamakazee drones and cruise missiles into Ukrainian ciities, killing men, women and children. Trump's instructions to Witkoff last week were to tell war criminal Vladimir Putin in person that he could keep the Ukrainian territory his forces currently occupy. President Zelenskyy of Ukraine was not consulted. This is a Trump ultimatim. Trump has decided to reward Putin for invading Ukraine, for murdering tens of thousands, for leveling Ukrainian cities, and for kidnapping tens of thousands of Ukrainian children.

Trump has decided to align the United States with Putin... another war criminal the US in now in bed with. In doing so, Trump is betraying all US diplomats and intelligence agents who for decades worked very hard to preserve the tenuous peace on the Europen continenet after WWII and to roll back the Soviet Union's brutal Iron Curtain in Europe. Trump has now decided to allow Putin to construct a new Iron Curtain in Europe.

The American people should be made aware of how Donald Trump is further damaging the US (besides Trump rewarding a convicted child-sexual-abuser (Ghislaine Maxwell) with a transfer to a "country-club" rehab facility in Texas).
 
Witkoff is incompetent and has no business in such a critical role. The fact Trump has entrusted him with the two most dangerous and complicated conflicts is a sign of Trump's incompetence and one of the reasons he is looking weak and ineffective. Putin and Netanyahu are playing Trump for the fool he is largely because of Witkoff's incompetence.

Generally speaking Donald doesn't need help to look a fool.

But he does have lots of people greasing the gears. Netanyahu and Putin are doing so with relish.

Many other world leaders like Modi, Xi, Carney and Macron are stringing him along with platitudes and flattery as they respond calmly to his economic aggression. Well, not so much flattery from Xi and Modi.
 
Wikoff is merely the errand boy. Witkoff has no power of his own. He obey's Trump's orders.

This is something akin to the 1938 moment when German nationalist Adolf Hitler demanded the right to annex the Sudetenland from Czechoslovakia.

Brtitish PM Neville Chamberlain acquiesed and the Sudetenland became German territory with the signing of the Munich Agreement.

Today, US president Donald Trump is acquiescing/capitulating to Russian nationalist Vladimir Putin's demands to annex parts of Ukraine.

Listening to R talking points, they are all claiming that 'we'll provide security guarantees'. Do they mean like the security guarantees we made to Ukraine in the Budapest Memorandum?
