1. Build a wall. That's going to cost a lot of money and take years to build. Hardly a solution.
2. Remain in Mexico. Mexico has ruled this out. But even then, it just allows people to try in sneak in other ways.

He apparently has no plan for dealing with asylum seekers, which is the source of the crisis at the border.

Strong on clichés, weak on effective policy.

He opposed the bipartisan compromise legislation, his position is that the border should remain an issue for as long as needed to benefit him politically.
 
Look. You don't even need a border policy if illegals choose to quit coming. In order to do that we need to send a crystal clear message that you're not welcome here and we will hunt you down if you choose to still come. (R) know how to do that, (D) choose not to because they have a political interest in keeping this going.

The law says they can come and make a claim for asylum.

Beyond that, that was Trump's message for 4 years and the number increased.

LOL But they are welcomed by employers that can't wait to give them a job. There needs to be prison time for employing illegals but that will never happen. The great northern migration really cranked up from 1953 to 1992.

Reagan’s amnesty helped elect both Bush presidents.
But, the GOP half-flipped in 1994 with noot’s contract on America.
TEAts finished the GOP transformation with REDMAP 2010, Senate 2014,
and finally trump, all based on the border cudgel LIE.

Yeah, they went up under Trump lmao. According to that, half of the increase occurred on Trump's watch, including the start of it all. If anything, that chart shows Biden taking over after Trump left behind a disaster, slowing the crossings down, and finally reversing the upward trend that started under Trump.

What did Trump do to curb the increase in crossings that occurred on his watch? Separated kids from their parents and then lost track of who their parents are, that's what.

You're missing the fact that Trump doesn't care about actual policies. All he cares about are optics, blaming his political enemies, and mashing the White Grievance button.
