Why can't the man answer a simple question?

Trump dodges question on whether he has worked for Russia

WASHINGTON (AP) — President Donald Trump avoided giving a direct answer when asked if he currently is or has ever worked for Russia after a published report said federal law enforcement officials were so concerned about his behavior after he fired James Comey from the FBI that they began investigating whether Trump had been working for the U.S. adversary against American interests.

Trump said it was the “most insulting” question he’d ever been asked.

The New York Times report Friday cited unnamed former law enforcement officials and others familiar with the investigation.

Trump responded to the report Saturday during a telephone interview broadcast on Fox News Channel after host Jeanine Pirro, who is also a personal friend of the president, asked whether he is currently or has ever worked for Russia.

“I think it’s the most insulting thing I’ve ever been asked,” Trump said. “I think it’s the most insulting article I’ve ever had written, and if you read the article you’ll see that they found absolutely nothing.”

Trump never answered Pirro’s question directly, but went on to say that no president has taken a harder stance against Russia than he has.

"a harder stance against Russia"?? Where's my laffing hysterically gif?

Perhaps you are looking at the wrong definition of "harder". I am sure I would get banned for showing that gif.:lamo

Are you required to give an answer to an insulting question?!?

Besides, the whole **** about Trump working for Russia is more than hilarious.
The media would like us to believe that Trump has been a one-man sleeper cell for the Russians for the last 50 years ... and the FBI "caught" on that only 2 years ago.

:lamo

Stupid questions don't deserve an answer

Judge Jeannine is asking "stupid questions"? While I'm not surprised that she would, I am surprised that a conservative would believe that.

What goes completely ignored by those who argue that the question is "insulting" is the 800 ton elephant in the room: the President of the United States is credibly suspected of being a Russian agent and national security risk, and he refuses to put the nation at ease by just answering "No."

But the trump supporter position necessarily relies on two assumptions that are themselves forms of gas lighting:

1)that the person being asked the question isn't the President of the United States, and
2)that the person hasn't exhibited a pattern of behavior that demonstrates him to be a national security risk and a Russian agent.

The unsubstantiated Trump / Russian collusion is a perfect example of gaslighting by both the political left and the media (same thing really).

This whole 'Does / did Trump ever work the Russians' is just more of the same.

The Trump Tower meeting was a setup by Fusion GPS. The female Russian lawyer's talking points were issued to her from them.

No, he's a Russian asset, you just hope he gets away with it. You're a fan of Putin, just admit it? You wouldn't care either way.

Not a "sleeper cell", more like an amoral greedy pig that happily took Russian money for years and who is now coming to realise the future ain't lookin' so grand.

That you believe this would be laughable if it weren't so sad.

If Trump were in fact a Manchurian candidate, you don't believe that the FBI would have intervened by now?

That they haven't would lend credence that he isn't.

That the whole leftist media are raising this narrative is because the Trump / Russian collusion narrative has collapsed, as will this one.

In their minds all their malignment over the past 1 1/2 years is justified by this foolish and unsubstantiated claim of 'we thought he was a Russian agent'.

This is, once again, just more gaslighting from the leftist, destroy Trump 'by any means necessary', TDS media, and again, it's sad that you've fallen for it yet again.

Whatever happened to 'Fool me once, shame on you. Fool me twice, shame on me?'

Trump has completed about 50% of his term.
What has he done to endanger national security?

It remains an accurate answer.

Yeah, they're disgusted and insulted they got caught.

Remember how MUeller is looking to use his public statements? He's treading carefully while he negotiates his resignation and hopeful free pass.

Trump fired most of the leadership of the FBI.

That's not accurate.
Many resigned on the release of the IG Horowitz's report or just before.
Others were fired, not by Trump, but based on the FBI's own professional review board.

Yes, all the FBI agents who were at the forefront of the counterintelligence investigation between Russian intelligence and the Trump campaign found themselves pushed out or fired by the end of 2017.

Not arguing that they weren't 'pushed out or fired', they were, with adherence to the established FBI procedures, I would wager.

I'm arguing that it wasn't Trump that fired every single one of them, as GB's post would lead one to believe.

As far as I can recall, Trump only fired one, Comey, and did adhere to the procedures when doing so. And rightfully so, given Comey's rather poor performance as documented in the IG's report.

Since you're able to speak in complete sentences with a fair control of spelling and grammar, any pretense of obtuseness is rejected.

Sorry, but my posts are using the correct spelling and correct grammar. Sorry that you can't seem to follow it.
