Name any POTUS candidate that did not "act to influence the election". IMHO, the most that was wrong was not reporting the "campaign related" expenditure per FEC rules.

The Dems don't call "everyone" those things, only those who ARE those things. It really is time for the right to own their pathology and quit acting butthurt about what they're being called. If you don't like being called racist, distance yourself from the white nationalists, don't praise them. If you don't like being called sexist and misogynist, don't grab ******s and poo-poo the sexual assault allegations against your SCOTUS nominees. If you don't like being called xenophobic, don't make hoards of desperately poor brown people your campaign enemy. If you don't like being called homophobic, don't restrict the ability of gay and transgender people to serve in the military and don't make it legal to discriminate against them. It's really pretty simple for most people to understand.

WASHINGTON (Reuters) - Donald Trump on Monday defended hush money payments reported by his former lawyer a day after Democrats said the U.S. president could face impeachment and jail time if the transactions are proven to be campaign finance violations.

Trump, in early morning tweets, said Democrats were wrongly targeting “a simple private transaction” after court filings last week drew renewed attention to six-figure payments by his personal lawyer to two women during the 2016 campaign so they would not discuss affairs with Trump.
