The tax 'cuts' are really just extending the current rates. If he does nothing, everyone will pay higher tax rates. Increasing revenue via tariffs will help make keeping the rates the same.

The whining is coming from the left as is always the case. And trying to raise revenue via tariffs to offset income tax policy is not 'dumb' at all.

Yes it is dumb.

Imports are a critical component of many industries and thus raising those costs will cause job loss and closures in this industries, and there aren't enough goods to feasibly tariff to cover the loss of revenue caused by eliminating the income tax.

It’s because of logic, as you make foreign products more expensive, importers will buy less, I mean some things you can’t but generally overtime that revenue will severely decrease making the whole exercise pointless.

It’s a pipe dream they have to believe they can replace income tax with tariff revenue.

Not even close considering DoGE has lowered its expectations by 85-90%. Trump want's the debt limit raised by $4.5 trillion. He has no problem borrowing more money for his billionaire buddies.

Think of it this way. Trump has always wanted to build that big, beautiful wall. Instead, he hands out tax cuts. No more talk of the wall. Every penny being stolen from the working/middle class goes straight to the top.

It's not only dumb, it destructive to the global economy. The billionaires and massive corps. are doing just fine. They need to be taxed more, not less.

If you call income tax policy for the top 1% good policy, I'm guessing you're in that 1%.
