Trump cancels White House Christmas party for the press

Actually it is trump looking like the child here with trump going “boo hoo they don’t worship me, boo hoo why don’t they like me the meanies”. And trump supporters come off looking even worse. :lamo

Maybe you and others can send Xmas cards to trump to let him know you care :lamo
Trump won't give the jackals a party, and HE'S the one upset there's no party? You people are priceless..:rofl

If true, it is very sad that we can't set our differences aside if only for one evening. Not siding with one or the other here.

No one is upset at him cancelling it just proves he is a divider and not a Uniter like his drooling fan base.

Of course you do because you support division instead of unity. Trump and his supporters are dividers and not Uniters. Thank you for proving me right about not only trump but trump supporters .:lamo
Unity is not what jumps to mind when I see that you've posted...;)

The only thing this will do is continue this asinine war between Trump and the press, there is no win here.

The media will never give Trump positive coverage if he had let the party happen. They haven't been since the day Trump announced he was running for POTUS. It's pointless holding it. The only possible time the media will give him ANY positive coverage is IF Trump bends over backwards and does what THEY want him to do (even that's doubtful). And it's not just with Trump they do this with, but rather any Republican or conservative (or a Right Wing Libertarian). It's just Trump is being honest here and cancelling it because of the bad blood between them. So this is a good move on Trump's part, and it makes sense.

It just gets worse and worse.

I'm not so sure. I mean, on the surface this looks like a childish thing to do but, when I think about this...
The MSM has been acting like a pack of sore losers and vindictive little ass-wipes since before Trump won the presidency.
CNN's viewership has dropped like a World Trade Center building. Much of the nation now views the MSM with scepticism.
And let's not forget that Trump's base is gonna love this news.

IMO, the Democrats need to re-think their strategy. They've spent 2 years wallowing in a mud-slinging contest with a man who enjoys mud-slinging and who's base love it. If they are not careful, they will paint themselves into the same obstructionist corner that the Republicans painted themselves in during the Obama years.

I would have more respect for the media if they would go after public figures like the President in a consistent manner. They don't do that which makes pretty much anything they have to say not worth listening to.

And you only prove your comments dishonest because you have no problem with taxpayer money being spent on the biggest political stooge, Trump.

He was elected, try not to post foolish nonsense.

He should have the party still. Invite small business owners, veterans and supporters. But I am with the president here. Don't throw a party for the ungrateful.

EXCLUSIVE – President Trump has canceled the White House holiday party for the media, making the decades-old tradition a victim of his increasingly contentious relationship with major news organizations.

The annual Christmas-season gathering was a significant perk for those covering the White House, as well as other Washington reporters, anchors and commentators, and New York media executives would regularly fly in for the occasion. At its peak, the invitation-only soirees grew so large that there were two back-to-back events, one for broadcast outlets and one for print organizations.

That is great! I love it!

It's petty, but that's in line with Trump so I guess it makes sense.

I like that Trump can give as good as he gets which no doubt drives the media crazy

I'd argue that "give as good as he gets" would mean he would be able to retort anything the media states in a clever and witty way rather than taking his ball and going home. Maybe i just have a different ideal of what leaders should be. Having been in a leadership role for most of my career, it's always made sense to be an example (even though often it's hard) and rise above petty issues so people working with you know there are other options. I don't think it's going to drive the media crazy because it's an event he cancelled; from a PR perspective it looks like he holds grudges and can't face his detractors.

And? What does that have to do with what I said? Please stop looking like a Trump shill when Republicans were complaining ALL the time about Obama's vacations even though Trump has exceeded that money and time in just 2 years.

President Trump is one of the most honest chief executives in a long time.

The media are his enemy.

So he refuses to be a hypocrite and attend the annual correspondents' dinner or to throw a White House party for his enemies.

Financially, he has saved the media from financial collapse. The New York Times, for example, was on its last legs until he was elected. Now it has rebounded as the leader of the Resistance.

When he inevitably leaves the White House in January, 2021 (sob!), the media are really going to miss him.

The media will become bored being a mere cheerleader for the new Democratic president. And some of the weaker prints will close down. (Yea!)

The sooner Trump stamps out the free press, the better.

But the press is not "free."

It is dominated by university-"educated" individuals who do not report but indulge in propaganda.

On TV, their faces are contorted by pure venom.

They simply cannot believe that NOT everyone shares their "progressive" views.

Right now, they are all competing to see who will win a Pulitzer for bringing down the President.

He should just invite the assholes from Fox News...Be done with it

He can't get sports teams to go to the White House, he cancels parties to save himself the embarrassment of no one showing up.

I prefer to paint with a less broad brush and limit the call of enemy to the lying media that daily attempt to undermine the best interests of the country.

Honest reporters that can professionally report a story accurately and fairly are too few and far between to group them with the leftist hacks that have taken over the bandwidth.
