Well, he shouldn't make grand promises he knows he can't keep. Democrats themselves were voted back in via landslide on a promise to fight Trump's border policies, so they have their own obligations to keep.
But here's question for ya': if he cares so much about this dumbass wall, why was he ready to sign the CR that lacked his $5.6 billion dollar demands, and why did Republicans pass that same CR just days before they changed their minds? And why didn't Trump push for a border security bill to come to the floor in either House, until Coulter and Lambaugh demanded he does so?
Easy, he didn't actually give two ****s about fulfilling his campaign promised, and figured he could once again get away with fooling you guys - which he almost did.
We disagree about border security and how it is best done, get over it like adults already.
The rest of the government has nothing to do with this dispute, and it is disgusting beyond words to continue to use its services and workers as bargaining chips to blackmail those who disagree to change their votes.
