"The president’s reelection campaign zeroed in on Harris in a second ad after Biden announced on Tuesday afternoon that he had selected her to be his running mate. The Trump campaign ad condemns Harris for comments she has made on "Medicare for All," gun reform, the Green New Deal and fracking, among other issues, characterizing her as a "socialist" candidate.

The spot begins with the phrase: “Meet phony Kamala Harris, Joe Biden’s new liberal handler.”

“She supports Bernie Sanders’s socialist takeover of your health care,” reads text that appears on screen that is followed by a clip of the California lawmaker saying, “I have always supported Medicare for All.”

It also says that Harris “wants to ban private health insurance plans,” followed by a clip of her saying: “Let’s eliminate all that. Let’s move on.”

In this ad, Harris is even quoted as saying "We should have that conservation," pertaining to having terrorists vote from prisons.

Does this ad accurately reflects Harris's policies?

Would Harris be Biden's handler if elected? Does Biden have the courage to stand up for his own beliefs?

The guy defunding Social Security is going to double down and run against Medicare, too. Sweet!

I'd rather watch some Lincoln Project ads. Less lying, more hilarity, more truth.

The guy defunding Social Security
I remember when Obama defunded Social Security and Democrats called it a victory for all Americans.

My how times have changed. :lamo

I'm sure you "remember" lots of things.

Are you too young to remember the early part of Obama's presidency, or did you just not follow politics at the time?

If you think Obama terminated the payroll tax as Trump is vowing to do, get a job and look at your paycheck.

It's not Democrats that Trump has to please.

Trump is running against “Medicare For All,” I E Bernie Sanders-backed socialized medicine.

He is not running against traditional Medicare.

No, slight difference... Obama terminated only a portion of the payroll tax but did so for many years, so it works out about the same in terms of "defunding social security".

It's not Democrats that Trump has to please.
Sure, which is why they push this hypocritical "Trump wants to destroy social security" nonsense after doing the exact same thing ten years ago.

Obama didn't defund Social Security...he proposed cuts to the program but the GOP were against it if it included tax hikes on the wealthy. Essentially, Obama proved that the GOP were unwilling to compromise even if it gave them half of what they wanted.

No, he defunded it in 2010. Again in 2011. And again in 2012.

I've seen a few Trump campaign ads. They need to hire better writers/producers. All of them are pretty bad. I've seen several Twitter ads by the opposition that look 10x better.

Do you have a link? Mind you, we're talking about social security and not medicaid.

It was part of the stimulus to work through the Great Recession. It was a partial (2% points) and temporary reduction in the employees portion of FICA. Putting money in the hands of low earning workers is one of the best ways to work through a recession as every dollar of benefit gets spent as the income group has a very high marginal propensity to consume. It did reduce social security and medicare for a short while, offset by the fact, theoretically it stimulated a recovery and brought back the economy. It was targeted and thought out (part of a very large and comprehensive plan), not something some impulsive thing that a president one Saturday afternoon because it sounds good.

They've been talking about something like this for months.

I am a sales manager. Been on for over 30 years. I sell stuff, people buy my stuff, I make money, customer is happy, everyone wins. I am also a liberal as defined by neanderthals. They call me and people like me communists or socialists as if I am not a capitalist. Well, lets get it right. I am a capitalist that gives a damn about other people which apparently makes me a communist or socialist. How do these two opposing ideas result in a person like myself?

The ad in the OP comes across as mostly squelching her audio levels and actual comments, and loudly replacing them with some distorted text versions of interpretations that attempt to make her look bad. The beauty of the Lincoln ads, is that Trumps own comments are enough to persuade viewers that he is not a good candidate to continue, no second-hand interpretations needed.

Trump is a ****ing moron surrounded by more ****ing morons.
Nobody of reasonable intelligence cares what they say.

Its something that Trump has wanted to do that no one else supported. It is his pet project. The way it was done, unlike 2009 when it was a component of a well thought out comprehensive package, it was impulsive. Unlike 2009, when the economy was in clear recovery, our current situation is unknown. This is not the time of a stimulus and certainly not a random one.

By "well thought out comprehensive package" you must mean Obama's decision to extend the Bush tax cuts.

There is really little difference between the two, except in the reaction by Democrats.

many people with high levels of intelligence will vote for Trump. I bet Justices Kavanaugh, Thomas, Gorsuch and Alito, and most likely Roberts will vote for him. They are at the far end of the bell curve in terms of intelligence.
