Republican-led Senate intelligence committee on the Russia
Trump campaign’s Russia contacts ‘grave’ threat, Senate says
The Senate intelligence committee has concluded that the Kremlin launched an aggressive effort to interfere in the 2016 presidential contest on behalf of Donald Trump.
The Republican-led panel on Tuesday released its fifth and final report in its investigation into election interference.
WASHINGTON (AP) — The Trump campaign’s interactions with Russian intelligence services during the 2016 presidential election posed a “grave” counterintelligence threat, a Senate panel concluded Tuesday as it detailed how associates of Donald Trump had regular contact with Russians and expected to benefit from the Kremlin’s help.
The nearly 1,000-page report, the fifth and final one from the Republican-led Senate intelligence committee on the Russia investigation, details how Russia launched an aggressive effort to interfere in the election on Trump’s behalf.
It says the Trump campaign chairman had regular contact with a Russian intelligence officer and says other Trump associates were eager to exploit the Kremlin’s aid, particularly by maximizing the impact of the disclosure of Democratic emails hacked by Russian intelligence officers.
The findings, including unflinching characterizations of furtive interactions between Trump associates and Russian operatives, echo to a large degree those of special counsel Robert Mueller’s Russia investigation and appear to repudiate the Republican president’s claims that the FBI had no basis to investigate whether his campaign was conspiring with Russia

Wondering now if Dejoy's trump driven b.s. with USPS, was a smoke screen to hide this devastating news; confirming trump's crooked 2016 campaign.

The Committee found no evidence that then-candidate Donald Trump or his campaign colluded with the Russian government in it's efforts to meddle in the election...
..it does detail a stunning accounting of the FBI's sloppy work and poor judgement...confirms that Christopher Steele used information gained from sources in Russia -- some with direct ties to the Russian government. That unverified, uncorroborated foreign information was them circulated with the press to disparage a U.S. political candidate.
Here is the ACTUAL committee report:
Senate Intelligence Committee Russia Investigation Vol. 5
See page 941:
Of course the Democrat minority says the opposite. So the "news report" is not being truthful as "the Republican-led Committee" found no such thing as reported...just (surprise surprise) the Democrat minority on said Committee. With ONE Democrat, Senator Wyden, going of the deep end into conspiracy theory land.
sane people knew this stuff already. hell, if it wasn't for Barr, Limbaugh and Hannity then Trump supporters might know it too.

It may have posed a grave threat at the time, but nothing ended up ever happening.
It's the job of the FBI to give threat assessments to presidential candidates so they can protect against being manipulated by a foreign entity, especially when things like this are discovered during a campaign. In 2016 Hillary Clinton received a candid threat assessment from the FBI, but as we all know the FBI did not do the same for the Trump campaign. They instead took an investigatory posture and didn't disclose the potential threats to Trump and his people.
.
Wrong...read the report. COLLUSION happened. The Campaign that COLLUDED won the election and then administration and campaign officials went on to commit perjury multiple times.
Just for the record the report states that the investigation into Carter Page was wholly justified and had nothing to do with the Steele dossier and states that the entire Ukrainian election interference HOAX was constructed by Russia and executed by RUSSIAN SPY and Manafort cohort, Kilimnik.
People are going to jail after Jan 20th. Barr will be disbarred and may end up in Prison. Manafort better hope he is never released from either house arrest or prison as he will be gunned down or poisoned by Russian agents if he every gives them the chance. He knows too much and we already know what Putin does with guys that know too much. As for Donnie Boy, statute of limitations will not be up on his crimes. He likely ends up in an orange jump suit. He will finally be fully coordinated.
I'm only thankful, as a Canadian, that Putin failed in trying to throttle Trump and trying to help Hillary (for obvious reasons as the Obama admin proved the US can be a pushover on foreign policy). If Putin got his way and got Hillary elected, I shutter to imagine which side of the evil taking over Canada at this point I would prefer carving us up, China or Russia.
I wish Trump wasn't as tough on Russia as he is, he should take some pointers from Democrats on these issues and kiss some Russian butt, maybe the trolls can actually help save America.
China is a lost cause, they have put all their effort into defeating America, and what better way to start than to put a Democrat in office.
Wrong...read the report. COLLUSION happened.
I have read through it, and there's one thing I noticed... That the report found no evidence of collusion with Russia by the Trump campaign... Sorry, but it is what it is... If that bothers you, then take it up with the democrats who unanimously agreed with that report.
.
Then you didn't read through it. There...fixed it for ya'
:roll::doh:lamo:inandout:
Didn't we already go through all of this pure BS with an IC named Mueller whose conclusion was no collusion?
Damn you democrats can't take any kind of bad news when you lose to Trump, can you?
An ex-FBI lawyer was just arrested for falsifying a warrant of some kind, I believe regarding this. I do not know the circumstances involved.

Former Trump campaign chairman Paul Manafort passed internal Trump campaign information to a Russian intelligence officer during the 2016 election, a new bipartisan Senate report concludes.
The findings draw a direct line between the president's former campaign chairman and Russian intelligence during the 2016 campaign
The committee found that Russian President Vladimir Putin was personally behind the hack and leak operation that published stolen Democratic Party emails, and that WikiLeaks — the website that published them — played a key role and "very likely knew it was assisting a Russian intelligence influence effort."
The Trump campaign sought to take advantage of those leaks by asking for advance notice of the WikiLeaks disclosures, crafting public relations strategies around them, and even encouraging "further theft of information and continued leaks

sane people knew this stuff already. hell, if it wasn't for Barr, Limbaugh and Hannity then Trump supporters might know it too.
Every cover up action, lying, obstruction, points to a man with no regard for the fabric of American values. A man who used Putin's playbook to pervert the U.S. election process and then cover his tracks.
I believe folks like Limbaugh and Hannity have said, just like the Senate report, there was no evidence of conspiracy.
I believe Barr has wondered why, in light of the fact there was no evidence of a conspiracy, the Obama Admin launched an investigation into the allegation there was a conspiracy.
