Trump calls for Intel CEO’s resignation

President Trump on Thursday called for Intel CEO Lip-Bu Tan to resign, arguing he is “highly conflicted.”

“The CEO of INTEL is highly CONFLICTED and must resign, immediately,” he wrote on Truth Social. “There is no other solution to this problem. Thank you for your attention to this problem!”

While he offered few details about his call for Tan to step aside, Trump’s post comes after Sen. Tom Cotton (R-Ark.) wrote to the semiconductor firm on Tuesday about concerns with the CEO’s ties to China.

Reuters reported earlier this year that the Intel executive had investments in hundreds of Chinese tech firms, at least eight of which have ties to the Chinese military.

FYI: this isn't our free countries work. Trump is pushing us further into fascism.

Ivanka’s Trademark Requests Were Fast-Tracked In China After Trump Was Elected

The Chinese government granted a total of 41 trademarks to companies linked to Ivanka Trump by April of 2019—and the trademarks she applied for after her father became president got approved about 40% faster than those she requested before Donald Trump’s victory in the 2016 election, according to a new book by Forbes’ senior editor Dan Alexander.

Trump is the worst thing to happen to this country since Vietnam.

This is ridiculous government overreach. America is the 2nd largest investor in China.

American billionaires like David Tepper are some of the largest individual investors in China. He's a Republican though so escapes Trump’s pathetic xenophobia.

We are in this really psychotic asymmetrical scenario in which Trump acts every inch like a facist commie socialist dictator but conservatives, the GOP, maga, whatever they want to be called this week just smirk at "libtard outrage" not realizing they should probably be outraged too. It's their ideology he's shitting all over and proving to be garbage. The hard core libertarians on the forum grow funnier each day they defend this shit.

This will be the post of the year.

Well, on the face of it, it's alarming. We've been far too easy on China, Chinese students in our colleges, Chinese government purchasing U.S. property and how China does business.

This is what happens when companies, colleges, law firms, etc. all bow the knee to Trump. If people stop treating him like a king, he'll stop acting like one.

Trump is right. Intel is trying to do the Walmart thing with offshoring manufacturing to China. They're going to end up like IBM in which all they do is manage intellectual property. America deserves better for this technology icon.

And this is how we correct it? By a sitting president ordering a private company to change personnel? And what is it we're fighting with China if we accept our government controlling business? LOLOLOL my god conservatives are so bad at understanding ideology they don't even remember why they don't trust China's government.

I'd say it's more a strong response to extreme left wing positions and influence across our government and society as a whole. The glaring positions we have seen regarding illegal immigration, trans gender policies regarding school age children, and soft of crime through downgrading offenses and refulsal to charge many crimes, have taken us in a downward spiral for the past couple of decades. The past four years highlighted much of this.

I thought Republicans loved the free market?
Have you all gone full communist now?
Government control of the means of production?

Wow, that was a quick conversion.

Trump wants to be King.

We don't have kings.

No kings in the US.

.

What does any of this have to do with crime? You are broadly suggesting *your* grievances with "the left" is all of America's, which is odd considering its every rw policy that's underwater with the public right now. One of Trump's first acts was to pardon the J6ers. I can't imagine a scenario that downgrades an offense more than the potus pardoning and paying off people who attacked cops.

Do any of your arguments not rest with made up breitbart bullshit?

When the CEO has what appears to be a dangerous relationship to the Chinese, yes. It's pretty common knowledge that China wants to infiltrate American business, culture and politics.

So I can't call trump a chid rapist based on what appears to be a dangerous relationship with Jeffrey Epstein but you want the sitting potus to control a company's executive suite based on appearance? Forget the hypocrisy for a second cause I know that's all you'll want to fight about: let me ask again, clearly: You want a potus to be able to do this, correct? You want them to have this power? They don't, and its unconstitutional, but you agree with it, correct?

I guess it's a good thing we don't have Kings. Well, we did have Elvis!
Democrats need to stop the hyperbole. The constant fear and hate and racism the left tosses out is damaging to the country and putting many groups, such as our military and our police and other law enforcement personnel.

Libertarians. Where the **** are you????
I didn't vote for that commie asshole. I did say, though, this is what Trump wants. It's just like China. The complete integration of the Corporate State into Party. You can have millionaires, you can have billionaires, so long as they pay proper fealty to Dear Leader and Party.

I did some digging into this man's background. He's well educated (MIT) and has a good track record of leading corporations to better outcomes.

This is a CEO who is the type of person who's responsible for America's leadership in the fields of innovation and corporate governance.

Don't kill the golden geese.

I think the key is to stop trying to pretend Republicans and Trump supporters are going to help.

They want this happen.

They want the U.S. to become a dictatorship.

It's up to the rest of us who really care about America's founding values and principles to fix this.

When Trump stops trying to bypass the Constitution, I'll stop saying he wants to be king.
